Battle Axe Morgans: AT or NT?

I was in Pittsburgh last week and my 92 year old grandmother bestowed upon me her "hoard" of Morgan dollars, heretofore dubbed the Battle Axe Collection™, in her honor. Do you think the coins pictured here are AT or NT? I have the original change purse that held the coins for the last 50 years or so. Shall I submit the change purse with the coins when I sent them to PCGS for certification? Do you think PCGS will be willing to put the Battle Axe pedigree on the slab?

Here's a photo of the collection. My faves are the monster-toned 1921 (bottom row, first from the left) and the smoothie™ (bottom row, second from left).

I think I am going to skip third party certification and have the Tooth Fairy give them to the kids for lost teeth.

Did you find any key dates in this hoard?

There are some killer VAMs, but I am not going to divulge any more (because that would require me to buy the book).

Are you sure "The Smoothie" isn't actually a rare uniface splasher, a trial of the principal obverse device? As for the 1921, what magnificent toning !! In my not very humble opinion, the coin is clearly naturally toned, using a mixture of rotten egg yolks and Mr. Clean. I can state this with certainty, as I own thousands of identical coins, and therefore speak from extreme experience.

Great collection, RYK. I am sure Grandma was proud of them. I would consign the coins to ANR, have QDB add a little historical color to the descriptions, as well the the coin purse story, and I am sure you will end up with a multiple of trends, even after ANR's modest commission.

I am thinking of renaming the collection, "The Ol' Battle Axe Collection"? I think that it might add some panache (and perhaps a little more money when it is time to sell ). I do not want people to think that this collection was quickly and recently assembled. What do you think?

As for Feld's questions, there was a 98 year old neighbor in the room when we opened the change purse. He promised to sign any affidavit to said effect. He does have severe dementia, however, and it makes him a slightly less reliable witness.

My grandmother, who gave me this wonderful collection of Morgans, passed away a couple weeks ago at the young age of 95. I had earlier decided to keep the 1921, the one with gorgeous tarnish , but the rest have been given away (to my children and on the forum) or sold (got $10 for the smoothie from CCG here).

since the toning came from a environmental where coins are naturally expected to be at times duiring their usage, it is, normal tone.

Just the fact that my grandmother, who gave me the coins, recently passed away.
