Why are there no ohhhhh's & ahhhhhh's over this coin? It's got pretty colors and in a reputable 3rd party holder. I been gone for a year, somebody fill me in. I musta missed something.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Island Coins has some of the finest toned Morgans in the business as well as other quality type coins.I dont know bust material, but check out the $20 65CAM Gold piece, and some other coins in inventory.Amazing how everyone can now grade, and determine original PCGS coins from pics.image

Not a fan of toning... but that is a marvelous strike... so clearly defined... impressive coin. Cheers, RickO

  • I'm with dizzyfox on this one - WOWSA I love that coin!
Looks okay to me, and I love the blue, and the strike. I've enjoyed Island Coins site many times, though not bought from them. I've never seen any reason to believe them anything other than a great seller of high end colorful coins.
There does seem to be a rather deep paranoia about toned coins these days...

I'd buy that one (if I had the money) and enjoy looking at it all day long.image

bestclser1, if it's OK with you I prefer to buy the coin, not the seller/dealerimage. Which in this case would be a big pass. Take care my friend.

  • I like the coin and respect the seller very much, but it's certainly any collectors right to pass on a coin they are not comfortable with. image

Nice strike with some interesting color. Not sure if I'd add it to my collection, but it would make a very nice conversation piece.

    To each their own.

I really like that coin...............it's just all that fake blue all over it that would make me pass on it...

I think Gary's a great dealer, but I'm with the naysayers on this particular coin--at least from that picture, it doesn't look right. Perhaps it's the picture, perhaps it's the coin--my eyes don't like it.

TomB, are you disagreeing that it's beautiful, or saying something else?

  • Would be nice to see that one in hand. They jack their Morgan pictures pretty badly, and this might be the same case.

Sorry guys, but many of the responses here are troubling to me.image How can so many say with such perceived authority that it's ATimage
That, like any, coin must be viewed in hand to come to such a conclusion. I've seen many (and own one) Early Bust with beautiful original blue toning. This example just happens to have a lot of it and I'm taking a non-conclusive guess on it because I have not seen it in-hand, and my guess is that it's just simply a very impressive NT coin. Once you (and I mean 'you' generally speaking throughout) have seen the coin in-hand, then please voice such a conclusive response. Otherwise, your AT (or NT for that matter) opinions are nothing more than speculation, like the rest of us.
Oh by the way, I've dealt with Gary, and he's #1 in my book in both impressive coin inventory and customer service.image

  • This coin would not be welcome in my collection. I think PCGS screwed the pooch on this one.
  • TomBTomB Posts: 21,936 ✭✭✭✭✭
I don't like the eye appeal as imaged, pharmer, but have never held the coin in-hand so I really don't know how true to life the image is. However, given this is all I have to go on at the moment, I don't believe it is something I would pursue.

  • OK, so on this one, you're not making an AT/NT comment? That's what I was wondering.

    Hey dizz,
Not fair to post a coin pic and ask for opinions then cry foul because we are basing our opinions on a pic.......

I was hoping to get a look at the coin. image
