I can't imagine what it must be like to be such a numbnuts that I would have to come here and whine up a storm over a simple shipping miscommunication..... image

I simply do not feel that I dropped an anvil on anyone's head here though image
  • I am certain Brandon didn't give his "miscommunication error" one thought after our last pm, no apology when i told him he said the coin was shipped a week before it was. He won't easily forget now that customer service is important to some of us. You guys with limited funds like me can thank me later for throwing myself on the grenade.

I assume you meant to say "I", not "myself"--also "thanks" should be singular (we thank you).

    Anyway, you're very welcome!

Perhaps you miscalculated agentjim007! You took the chance that he would understand, you were quite busy. The time passed, you gave him a couple of senseable answers. I for one, have been very fortunate to have dealt with many great folks in 15 years. Once I found a refund check on my desk that I should have sent out over a year ago and the guy never emailed me about it during all that time. I emailed him and profusively apologized for my error. Another seller took over 5 months to refund some $400 to me. I sent him an email to remind him because I had forgot about it and he had done the same..........had forgot all about it....we had a good laugh over it. And there was another transaction where the original seller had skipped town with alot of ebay buyer's money. Over 4 years had lapsed before a I received that refund. And I don't know if it came out of that new owner's pocket to refund me. I have sent coins to the wrong parties and they were very reasonable in sending each other their coins. I have lost two orders and had one lost sent to me, I have never really got too excited about them, everything worked out with the postal ins.
This thread presents an interesting senario were I would only be concerned about the whereabouts of the coin if it might be lost. Whether or not someone told me that they would send a coin on approvel or before a check passes the bank, I just can't see myself getting too fired up about it. But that's just me I guess.

    Jim,

With all due respect, if that was your intent, a polite phone call or letter would have had a greater impact (on Brandon and other dealers) than what transpired here.

What makes you think "customer service" means making ZERO mistakes? He owned up to it and apologized for it. What do you expect out of this? A free coin?

Isn't it, though? Comparing this situation with a wartime hero who dives on a live grenade to save the whole platoon from being blown to pieces? image

Sorry I'm late. Did someone dive on top of a grenade when he was the only one in the foxhole?
  • Agentjim007, you should be a little punished somehow for this.

I know this doesn't have much to do with the subject, but this line from Brandon got me...

"I thought my markup was very reasonable and no, I don't like to take credit cards. Name a dealer that does. "

Not take credit cards? Cash and checks are cool, but no credit cards? Come on! I've found plenty of dealers that do take plastic, even at Long Beach. Just don't like carrying loads of cash around.

Have nothing against Anaconda Coins - they have pretty cool stuff to look over...

    Poorguy,

You need to learn something that my grampa used to tell me, "Never get into a pissing contest with a skunk, it would be a no win situation"image

Sure, many dealers will take credit cards, but if you really want their best price, you need to remember the 2-3% they can lose on accepting the credit card. That's 2-3% less wiggle room they have to give you their "best price."

We DO take credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, AMEX. But.......

Credit cards are not what I would consider an attractive form of payment.

    1. There's the 2.6% fee.
    2. Responsibility of having someone's credit card number.
    3. Unless you have the buyer's signature on some sort of invoice, you won't have enough evidence for the credit card company to ensure that the buyer can't reverse the charge.
    4. That annoying credit card machine can be a pain to use. image

No kidding!! It really baffles me how this board is used as a customer complaint department. This matter and doofus Fletchers' situation should never have shown up here.

(And Fletcher / ChannelIslands, stop popping in to other matters looking for more sympathy -- you were wrong, period, end of story. And here's some phoney smileys for 'ya imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimage )
