Boo: Point 3 stand as clear as day. I already illustated that the comparisons you made in attempt to knock my point three were like comparing apples to oranges. Plus, in your second to last reply, you agreed with my bottom line. Are you back tracking and chaning your mind again? Heck, you're worse than John Kerry! Rich

If a guy making 75K a year wants to spend 10K a year putting together a BGS 10 88D set then who are you to tell him he's crazy? People spend more then that playing roulette every year, or getting lap dances. People direct their money towards those things that are valuable to THEM, and whether you or I think it's stupid is totally immaterial. How much these choose to spend lies in direct proportion to how much they value it. If someone really, really wants a BGS 10 88D set he'll spend a large part of his income trying to get it. If someone doesn't care at all he won't spend a nickle on it.
The problem arises when guys like you start trying to place judgments on how people choose to spend their money. And make no mistake--when you say 'someone needs to get their head examined' you're doing just that- passing a judgment.
Boo: What are you talking about? I make a lot more than 75K per year and spend more than 10k per year on hobby related items. All I've been trying to say (and I think I made it as clear as day) is that knowbody "in their right mind" wants their collection to take a big hit in total dollar/resale value. what thread have you been reading? Rich

I collect the cards I collect because I honestly like to do so. I spend as much as I can possibly afford to spend. I am not the richest man in the world. I am not hung like a mule.

May I have some money, please?
You seem to talk about $$$$$ a great deal. If I sent you my PayPal ID, would you "beam" me some $$$$$$?
Thank you,
Josh

I read it and am still confused.

My wife was searching PayPal and discovered I spent $68 (I think - I really wasn't listening) on a card ('73 Eller PSA 10).
She hasn't spoken to me much today.
But it's a really nice card.
