Incugator still around annoying people

EDITED to remove PM

Incugator.....seriously kid....go away. Go back to that little playground they call beckett message boards. Maybe one day you'll actually learn how to speak to someone without pissing them off....I doubt it though. You have a big, fat ZERO (0) for credibility here. And that won't change anytime soon (or ever).

  • was this the guy trying to arrange a group buy? are we sure he's not innocent in this? i personally was never convinced that he was a scammer although the auction did look a little fishy. i almost feel sorry for the poor guy....

anyone else wanna jump in here?

Most folks on this and other sophisticated CU boards are VERY "scam-shy."
That is because we have seen/discussed so many scams.

There was no "evidence" that the auction was a scam. There was
a bunch of conjecture that sprang from the board's collective experience
at identifying "circumstances" indicative of a scam. (The only thing I
saw that was a "strong indicator" was the alleged refusal to close
    the deal in escrow.)

eBay "looked" at the auction, or at least had MANY chances to do so.
    They decided it was "OK."

IMO: The only obvious "mistake" that this board's "Ryan" likely made
was not taking "NO !," for an answer IMMEDIATELY.

  • i agree.. if he's gonna pay with pay pal before you ship, then you're pretty safe.. especially if you ship signature confirmed.. then you're bulletproof

edited to add: i was the one that asked the seller if they would consider escrow and they said simply "not at this time", so that aspect does look pretty shady but that doesn't necessarily reflect on the guy that wants to buy your baseball.... i agree he was quite unwise to pursue it when he saw the ice cold reception he received here...

EB31, I've always found it odd that you and the incugator signed up at nearly the same time and you've always been his worst critic??? At first I was convinced that you and he we're the same guy, mostly because of your mannerism and pronunciation, but since changed my opinion and realized that I don't care who anyone is anyway image

But whether you're Jason or -Ryan or -Ryan- or God himself, I personally think the private messages should be kept private image

  • Hello again to everybody.

I did contact Montana Fan (I don't know his real name) and thank him for defending me. I became a member of PSA about 6 Months ago and began reading the boards about 3-4 months ago. Obviously not very often. I saw that people were trading and putting listings up that they were selling on E-bay. I also noticed that collectors were starting, adding to, or completing their sets.

I am a huge sports fan (mainly baseball) and have had the pleasure of meeting Willie Mays on multiple occassions over the past year. He would sign baseballs for me and told me "these are worth a lot of money" It made me feel like a little kid again. I can now afford to collect cards and I think that they are the coolest thing ever. When I get them, I feel like I am 10 years old again.

Obviously in the past I got in over my head with the whole group purchase idea, but it was simply out of lack of knowledge. I didn't realize that the people on this board were so 'scam aware' I guess the better words would be 'scam secure'

This group of collectors is probably the best and most effective collectors in this country. You guys can talk about all types of cards, trade cards, promote cards, and even sell cards to one another. I felt like a kid when I started collecting cards again and it was great, but I also felt like a kid when I started getting bullied on this board.

I am not a scammer. I have made a few trades through PM's on this board. One being with AmhanFan (I'm still waiting for my end of the deal) IT was a small $10-$25 trade. But I realized, you have to start somewhere. EB31 has been very tough on me as well as a few other people, but honestly, don't let a bad idea and persistance (which I am very persistant/stubborn) make me an outcast. I realize I will never regain everybody's trust on this board, but I would love to talk sports. I feel like I have some very interesting ideas (many that you guys aren't going to neccessarily agree with) and you can make fun of my crappy spelling, but I just want to talk sports and collect cards.

    Hey Ryan, glad your back.

I wasn't making fun of your "crappy spelling", as a matter of fact, I'm impressed with your good spelling.

I think that my first impression of EB31, although wrong, is a good example of how everyone here looks at everything...........skeptical, very skeptical and extremely skeptical, yuk yuk.

Well........take er easy, and don't let other peoples opinions (especially mine) bother you image

Off track.....I never said his trying to buy my Musial was a scam. His group buy was a scam....at the very least it was moronic. And now he comes to me and tries to tell me it's not a good Musial auto at all, but hey I'll buy it anyway.....likes he's doing me a favor LOL

    This character is a moron.

  • << <i>EB31 is an interesting person.. >>

If you have something to say jr..say it. Don't imply.
  • I am not a Star Wars collector, but that's a pretty cool idea. I don't think most people collected those cards in the 70's. Most kids just played with them. I am a '33 Goudey collector. I buy most of the cards raw and get them graded. Then I try to upgrade gradually. I've had pretty good success doing this (with the exception of 1 scam) I am also into so 'modern vintage' or 'post war' but much more sporatic than the Goudey's. I'm into the pitchers like Koufax, Ford, Spahn, and Feller. I also like Mays, Mantle, and Yaz. I am just not as much involved in collecting those cards yet. I am also starting quite a baseball collection. Mostly Mays balls. I've never submitted them, but they are all probably 9's or 10's. I don't know much about grading baseballs.

I am just keeping the members here posted as to what this tool is up to. He was flagged from day one for trying to run a group buy scam on whoever would bite. If posting PM's is a no-no in everyones eyes, so be it..lesson learned on my part. If this is the flack I am going to catch for wanting to look out for the best interest of the boards, then I will be more than happy to mind my own business and look out for only numero uno. No biggie.

EB31, when you first came here i think you said you were a new ebayer or something? i know you only had 7 feedbacks at the time, but you might have said later that you have many ebay ID's or something.. that makes sense, and goes along with what ive heard..

ive heard you use a lot of different id's and leave a lot of negative feedback over petty stuff..

i dont know this to be fact at all, it's just what ive heard.. and your posts are strange..

therefore i find you to be an interesting forum member.. thats all..

I addressed this with you once, this will be the last time. You asked me this same question already and I answered it..apparently not to your satisfaction....since it is still an issue.

Wherever you are getting your "information" about me...whoever your source is.... he doesn't know what he is talking about. Plain and simple.

    a) I never said I was new to Ebay, nor did I imply that. Go back over all of my posts if you like. You apparently misunderstood whatever it was I actually said.

b ) In my many years on Ebay I have left a total of 3 negatives (since 1999).....so if that is what you want to call "..a lot...over petty stuff" then so be it.

    c) As I told you already....I have 1 main Ebay ID (opened in '99) and I use 1 secondary ID for buying. In order to keep people from jacking up the prices of what I am buying (which is typically high end items), I change that secondary ID often. I began that practice when I was hoarding 03-04 UD Exquisite basketball.....right into my demolishing the Delmon Young secondary market...and even now with my Pete Rose cards....and my other side ventures.

I hope that this answers your questions..though somehow I doubt it. If this is not clear enough for you, and resolves any questions you may have about me..then I don't know what to tell you. This is now the second (and last) time I have responded to your "accusations"...I say that lightly as your intent is merely borderline at this point....

    No problem ...apology accepted.

Who haven't the Beckett mods kicked off at one time or another. There are a few of us ex-BMB'ers here on CU. Let's just say that I don't stand by quietly while Mods go out of their way to protect known thieves. That's as much as I will get into about it, as it is an old issue and I have moved on quite happily.

Again...how hard is it for you to understand that I switch my 2nd ID often. I guess I have to spell it out for you......I use an ID to buy 1 or 2 things and then request that it be closed, then switch to a new ID to avoid prices being run up on me.

Now, how about you tell your little source to come here and speak up for themselves....or are you just trying to instigate a problem with me?

He thinks he's playing internet cop which is funny....I can list about 100 Id's I have had over the past few years, so none of the info he has is breaking news. I've already said about 4 times that I switch my secondary ID very often to keep Ebay trolls off my trail as I look to purchase large amounts of low print run cards......a pretty typical practice by many people these days.

so you dont actually "switch ID's", you instead create new accounts?..

did you request your "pete_rose_collector account be closed after 3 days on ebay?..

did you request to be banned from the bench?

Not that I owe you any sort of explanation at all...but I thought I would be nice and answer a few of your questions..but now you are getting out of hand. And I am sure if you told me your beckett ID, I bet I know you.

I will simply say that my being banned from the Bench had to do with my not taking crap from anyone...i told the owner off and that was that.

Why don't you ask some of the other banned Beckett members here why they were banned......Jeff, Rich and several others. (Sorry to name drop guys)...all respected members of the online community that Beckett chose to ban. So let's not play thins game that you think you have something on me.

Bottom line is that life happens.....I was doing a good thing on Beckett (tracking and stopping a HUGE internet thief) and came across a crooked mod that tried to protect his thieving friend...period. The bench....well, quite simply...my attitude got the best of me with the site owner.

If you want a reference check on me...head on over to TradingCardCentral ..talk to the site owner Bob. Funny, I've been there since last year with no problems..figured since you want to bring up the negatives....try knowing ALL of your facts first. While you're at it...try SportsCardSheriff.....yep, no problems there either.

Lastly, just because you don't like my changing my secondary ID ecery few weeks...means nothing. If oyu had a $1,000 card pushed up to almost $3000 on you becuase people were aware of your bidding habits...you'd look into alternative bidding methods also.

Now, I am done answering your questions. I have provided you with more than enough details and more than enough options to look into where I post these days. Am I bothered that I was banned from beckett? Not in the least...the place is full of moronic children and people who only worry about how much they can make off Ebay......not a single true collector as far as I am concerned.

Try to run my name through the mud as much as you want....I am used to it from all the people that I outbid online lol You may find that I am at times an ass, and I have a short fuse......but the one thing you will NEVER be able to say about me..is that I am shady, deceptive or a thief. Imay be crude....but I am honest.

So...carry on..as it is clear you have an agenda in mind.

i remember a similar comment, that is why i stuck up for incugator.. not trying to give you a hard time EB.. just trying to make sure another member isn't treated unfairly.. if i put myself in incugator's shoes, things look really unfair.. he was basically crucified for no good reason by an overly suspicious bunch of collectors and was ostracized.. then he went away, probably feeling like crap because of the way we greeted him, ("bullied" is the word he used) and enough time passes that he feels he can try to politely and respectfully contact EB for a piece for his collection.. EB's response is to insult him further, call him a tool and a moron, and a scammer again... it's really not how we should handle things on the forum IMO.. Sorry EB..

now i feel compelled to stick up for pandrews because i also remember a comment of that nature.
