<< <i>Does anyone else sense Ax has a wee bit of resentment against the whole Northeast? It rains in Seattle about as often as Ax cries on CU. >>
Hardly crying, I asked a valid question.
I know, that for you, a life long drinker of NY koolaid, that criticism is soemthing you've never encountered, but for those of us in the real world, the pitching staff of the mets is a serious question now.
So, instead of running yer yap, either shut it or answer the question?
"Does anyone else sense Ax has a wee bit of resentment against the whole Northeast?"
Answer my question.

About the 11 game lead? Yeah, it's safe. Nobody in that division has the players or the management to overtake the Mets. Since Atl lose Leo Mezzoni the pitching(the only thing that has held together that team in recent seasons) has fallen to the wayside. The Marlins simply don't have enough, they already had their firesale after their title run and have yet to acquire/develop the personell to make another run.
Think different? Give me some "insight" onto why you think the lead isn't safe(namely, who else in the division has what it takes to overtake them?).

Ax, your team is hovering around .500 in the weakest division in baseball and you talk your crap like they are 30 games over. The Mets are superior to the Mariners up and down the board. You rave on and on about guys hitting .250 on your team like they are the second coming of Ted Williams yet you bash players in NY who are vastly superior. Does being an ignorant jerk for the whole PSA world to see ever get old ? Does being considered the resident idiot by everyone on here ever get old ?
This game is baseball. It is 162 game season. Doesnt matter who you are, there will be ups and downs, highs and lows. Just look at the Tigers. Just when everyone thought reality was setting in boom, they rattle off another 9 or 10 wins in a row. The Mets, Pedro, whoever, had a couple of bad games. They will rebound and be there at the end while your M's will be sitting home watching or on the golf course somewhere.

He has his team with an 11 game lead in the NL East. He was a great third base coach for the Yankees, who, many of us Yankee fans were saddened that he left the organization but happy for him that he got the manager job he deserved. I guess being a coach on a recent 4 time WS dynasty doesn't account for much in Ax's world. lol.

Topps, regarding Willie I will have to say this. Though I consider him a great Yankee who played great second base on championship teams and was a member of the organization for years with nothing but the utmost class, I really dont think he was a great third base coach. Many, many times he made the wrong call on whether or not to send or hold a runner, and it seemed his judgement was a bit off. He did some great work with the infielders, was a great guy, but average at best in coaching the 3rd sack. In contrast I think Bowa has done a vastly superior job this year, as well as having added a FIRE to the coaching staff.

Since you are the expert, please enlighten us all by naming some managers who won titles immediately ? Go up and down the list of the greatest to ever manage, they all had their bumps and bruises along the way and finally won with experience and players to work with. Bashing Randolph is completely absurd.
Who cares what their payroll is ? They still have to go out and play the games. There are alot of teams they have beaten who have large payrolls. Once again you are on a world class mission to bash anything and everything NY.
"The other teams could make trouble for us if they win." -- Yogi Berra
I was responding the ridiculous assertion that the Mets couldn't be caught because of their 'management'. I never said anyone won immediately, I was simply responding that the Mets management isn't any better than anyone else in that division.
Now if you'd like to read the thread instead of blasting me, go ahead.
<< <i>About the 11 game lead? Yeah, it's safe. Nobody in that division has the players or the management to overtake the Mets. >>
As you can see, I didn't just say "Willie Randolph". It seems Omar Minaya has made some smart personell decisions since he was made GM. Also....THE PLAYERS! Again Ax, good job at cherrypicking one piece of an answer and running with it. Good way in avoiding the question at hand, as usual.

Philly, you didnt know ? You need Axholes permission to speak in a thread that he himself has invaded to start trouble. Maybe you didnt get the memo, but Ax has full reign to enter any discussion he wants, to talk any garbage he wants, but when he feels someone else steps over the line he ALSO has full reign to scold them and question why THEY have entered a thread. Please keep up with the new PSA message board rules and regulations so we dont have this error in the future.

Ax, your Mariners are a game under .500 in the weakest division in baseball. They are ONE game ahead of the Phillies in the loss column and you act like they are 30 games over .500. Get a grip and a clue. If it were any other team with the Mariners record and players you would be coming up with everything in the book to rip them.
Back to the Mets please....you know, the team with the best record in the national league. The team that has looked positively dominating for most of the season and has put together a great group of guys. The very same team with a great blend of bright young stars and established veterans all gelling together in a solid mold that will most assuredly be making a playoff visit this fall.
