They both look Good. With me I will go with the white. Great Photos and Congrats on the Grade of MS67! So what will it sell for when you put it on Ebay? image

It is a beautiful Arkansas. With all the commems out there most are not memorable, but I saw this coin a couple of years ago and it is one of the nicest Arkansas commems I've ever seen. Congrats.

I like the black background better. The beautiful colors are more pronounced.

Slight preference for the black background. Both look very nice.

The black background shows off the toning better. But the white gives the illusion of better luster.

  • I was having fun with the gradient tool.... How about a changing background to emphasize toning on each side, since they are different colors.

  • The gradient blue---like different aspects of the black and white--but the blue has it all.

Here is his Oregon using yellow to accent the electric blue toning... This is one of the nicest Oregon Trails I have see.

    Black.

This coin must have set you back about five figures, a five fold price jump up from MS66. Wish I could afford those big price jumps.image

The black really sets everything off the best. I personally don't like the gradients that span the entire picture, or the bright backgrounds--they're hard on the eyes.

The gradient black that you are using is distracting to me. Keep it plain black or maybe even a top to bottom gradient like the blue. Darker colors will set off the coin. I would not go black to white gradient, but rather maybe a black to 50% black.

John, that is one WOW Arkansas! You know I prefer black backgrounds for my commems and that is my pick in this case. I've been looking for an Arkansas with some nice color for some time now and suprise - right after seeing your thread I found this one. Not as high a grade, only a 66, but it looks like a winner. I'm looking forward to seeing it in hand next week! -- Terry
