Below 5 seconds it's only a question of who has the best (or worst) ping to Ebay's server. I set my sniper (the one linked above) to 5 seconds, and when in person I click with 5 seconds, and the rest is in God's hands.

Remember, it's Ebay. There will_be another one.

I paid the price for not putting my maximum in initially, I guess. It's just unnerving to be outbid in the final few seconds. I've bid on other things, and that's never happened before.

if you really wanted that, you should have put your money where
your mouth is first time out. multi bids show extreme interest or
extreme shill, either being no good.

Looks to me like you bid eight times too many, and should have saved your max bid for your last. I prefer the old-school snipe, but if I have to bid early, I bid the maximum that I'm willing to pay. If someone else gets it, they paid too much

I am on a slow 28k dialup connection but I once won a Morgan with a 1 second snip on eBay. I use Auction Sentry and that's what actually happened.

You gotta take the emotion out of your bidding to keep your blood pressure low - and maybe save some money.

In all types of auctions, the key is to decide the most you would pay for an item. So if someone outbids you, so be it. So take your time in deciding your max bid.

Then decide when/how you are going to bid. If you put your max bid out there early, someone can shill you up, or just easily outbid you if they want the item. That is where sniping programs save you money. Putting your bid in at the last second saves some of the shilling and if you win, great. If you don't win, at least you put your max bid in the game.

I use the sniping software most of the time now as I don't have time to follow auctions anymore. And I never get excited when I lose.
