Although it's not a normal issue... This coin is simply beautiful and stirs emotion when I see it.

I call the 1988 Olympic set, "beauty and the beast." the $5 gold coin is quite nice with its depiction of Nike. The silver dollar with the torch pass on the obverse and the Olympic rings is ugly and visually boring. A dealer I know who was trying to sell these coins as Christmas gifts back in 1988 told me that the comment from most of his customers was, "Yea, what else have you got?"
Another waste is the reverse of the Mt. Rushmore $5 gold. It's just words! Talk about lazy artwork. The guy who "designed" that should be ashamed. He claimed he lacked the time to put in a good effort. He should passed on the assignment. The obverse of the coin with an eagle carrying sculpters' tooks with the monument in the background is outstanding.
And to me the Statue of Liberty half dollar commemorative is the most beautiful REALLY cheap coin around.
–John Adams, 1826

This one is tough to beat, on many levels.
- The POW silver commem' sometimes brings tears to my eyes - and I've never even served... The image of the eagle with the broken chain is just powerful.
- I also like the eagle on the Constitution gold commem'.
- I like the statue of Liberty commem'.
I have to admit the Marines coin is very nice.

I don't own one, but I think it's the finest eagle on any coin, ever, period..
I dont know why I like this one so much
