VG, assuming that whatever is on the word "OF" on the obverse is not damage. If it is a scratch, that's one thing. If it's an attempted hole, that's another more serious defect.

I have the same date in VF. One of the "common" $3's, but, not 1878 or 1854-P, anyway.
