we could do that again this year, or perhaps make it more complicated like assigning different "weights" to each pick. something like wild card round 1 point, divisional 2 points, conference 3 points, and superbowl 4 points. or perhaps allow people to assign their own value to each pick indicating how sure they are of it. also if the weights are used, we could only count the correct picks or make wrong picks count against the player (if so a lot of people will have negative scores!)
as far as prizes go, i threw in a vick card last year to the winner, and a couple of other people threw in cards as well. this year, perhaps encourage everyone to throw in something ($5-10 worth of cards?) to the winner.
lmk what you guys think about the "weights" of the picks and also the prizes.
btw, for you guys who don't know what a spread is, it is measure of how much a team is favored by. if you pick the favorite, you adjust their score by subtracting the spread to see if it is greater than the underdog's score, and if you pick the underdog you add the spread to their score to see if it is greater than the favorite. for example new england is favored by 8 points over jacksonville so in this contest you would either pick ne -8 or jax +8. if the final score was ne 24 jax 10, anyone who picked ne -8 would win, if the final score was ne 17 jax 14 anyone who picked jax +8 would win, and if the final score was ne 24 jax 16 no one would win, but no one would lose either.
<< <i>im in!! but vick is losing his value?? LOL!! >>
ok, you're out of the contest
j/k, maybe throw in packs of cards to the winner?
I'm in too. I'll go with whatever you come up with but since I won last year I promised to add a prize or
two for this year's contest. I don't have much Vick stuff (sorry!). However, for first place I will kick in
a 1995 Upper Deck Back to School set (through mail in) that is not opened and contains at least a mint
or really close to mint John Elway and Joe Montana card. I'll also kick in a mint in box (missing just the Joe
Montana sorry) 1987 American Topps football set - from the UK). If an Eagles fan wins I'll try to find
something extra too. If I win I'll send the prizes to the guy who comes in 2nd!)

Let me know.

I am in, but if I win I will not accept and Griffey Jr. cards. I would also be willing to throw in a prize to the weiner if I do not win.

It's usually suicide to go against the teams that have had a bye in week one of the playoffs,
but all the road teams seem to be peaking, while all the home teams have appeared lackluster for the last month.
So, I'll take the four dogs :
