<< <i>For the record, this is the only ID I have, and I am not trolling.

Just because we disagree about something doesn't mean I am causing trouble.

I will not post about the rock tumbler thing anymore, you guys got that through my head finally.

I want to learn more about this hobby, I just would like help with how to deal with this local coin dealer. If you don't believe me I can post his phone number and you can call and talk to him. >>

Perhaps rock collecting would be a better hobby for you. >>

No, the jerk actually wouldn't give me more than five cents a piece for them. I guess he thinks I am a moron.

Where in San Diego do you live? Maybe we can go and visit this coin dealer together, it would be fun!

Man, You guys are brutal to new comers !

Didn't used to be so unfriendly for newbies. Most people would welcome them, ask questions about what they collected, that sort of stuff. Try to get to know them.

Nowadays a person joins up and is berated right from the start, just because they have an uneducated question about something.

A sad statement for this forum image

I think you should just ask the owner if he could display your coins for you in his display case and if any sell, well... he could just give you any money he gets for them... This way it is a win - win situation for you. You deserve at least that right halfcrazy---. I don't understand why this store owner wouldn't give you a cut of his profits on his other sales also---Lousy good for nothing business owners---they need to give more of their profits back to strong buyers like yourself --- Right halfcrazy?

How do you think it makes you look when you 'pile on' a new member?
    Pretty bad in my opinion.

Yeah, we're going to go visit the dealer that yanked his chain then go back to his place and drink MD 20/20 and watch porn. Maybe coinguy1 will come join us, too, if we ask really nicely!

    Doug,

    Does it really matter?

Is it just an excuse for everyone to be mean and obnoxious?

I thought Coin Forum members were above such behavior? (at least that's what most of them claim anyway)

yep i must agree that was a bit out of line the scam artist part. if it was in a 2x2 holder ( like most coin dealers use ) i dont see the big deal with a microscope. a cheap coin like that if you dont see anything 10x loop then forge-a-bou-it. just enjoy the coins. now if this was a MS62 coin that was slabbed and was lets say 600$ and ms 63 was 2500$ and it was a verry nice ms62. then i can understand it. and maybe id have to question not letting you use it. but these are 1 or 1.50 coins .

to each their own i suppose. but really i can see how some coin dealers are grumpy little elvs

In response to the first post on this thread by Busthalfcrazy.

I'm sure the coin dealer that wouldn't let you examine his state quarters with a microscope is horrified by the fact that you will probably go elsewhere for your purchases in the future. I'm sure that the loss of the 15cents per coin profit that he is making from your purchases is gonna put him into bankruptcy. It would only take maybe 1 to 2 hours of his time to help you find the one MS70 state quarter in his shop you wanna pay $0.50 for so i dont understand why he would be hesitating to help you out.
