There is a restuarant in my area whose entire bar is covered in old coins. The place is called Aces. The only problem is that the coins are all polly'd into the bar itself. Cool nonetheless. It's been awhile sonce I've been in and will go in again this week and let you know what rarities if any are encased. Bar is "L" shaped and about 30' x 10' and full of old coinage.

What would you do if you found a nice 55 DDO lincoln or a key coin embedded in there image
  • Real question is: How would you get it out? Must be atleast 1/4" of poly over the coins.

  • I saw something similar to what you're talking about in Vegas. It was called the "Ram's Head Bar." One gigantic bar with nothing but Morgan dollars embedded & covered by acrylic. Really cool looking! It would've taken me hours to to search for potential keys, possibly days,... it's that big. Where are you located blastpak?image

  • I'm in Livonia,Ny which is about 25 miles south of Rochester. The restuarant is located in a small town called Honeoye which I used to live.

  • As you were peering upon this wonderful find, what coins do you recall observing? Can't ya tell I'm interested?image I love places like this. The only thing I find that somewhat degredates the hobby is the clear plexiglas commode seats with various denominations of coinage set in them.image

  • Razorface, I don't recall but will hit there for lunch this week and take a look. It's been there for awhile. My old man used to take me there for fish fry's on Friday nights and that was about 20-25 years ago. I too am interested in seeing what has been sitting there.

There was a bar in Gold Field, Nevada that had Wheat Cents covering the bar top. I often wondered if it was still there, saw it back in 1983.

Get some type of gas company, electric company or phone company outfit, walk into the place and yell evacuate, it's an emergency. Then with the help of a few friends simply take the bar top out for safety.

  • I used to live in Visalia and went to Fresno all the time. Drove by that place hundreds of times and never went in.

Don's Restaurant in Soap Lake, Washington (not far from Grand Coulee Dam) has an entry counter embedded with US coins. As I remember some Walkers and Barbers, maybe some older coins.
