Amazing stuff as always, Rube. I can't say as though I have seen an O'Neil sig before and Monte Irvin doesn't get nearly as much love from the hobby as he deserves!
Despite the holiday slowdown, I did pick get a few things from Snorto Claus including Slingin' Sammy Baugh and Steve Van Buren rookies for my 1948 Leaf set and another HOFer, Charlie Trippi, for my 1950 Bowman set.
Got a few other Leaf HOF rookies waiting for me at the post office from a CU deal that I am eager to pick up Monday too!
Here were some of my newest additions while I was gone.
My first ever card from the 60s that I was given by a friend of my grandpa's. I found his address and got it signed. Very excited about this one.
Not sure why it's black and white, but too lazy to go do it again. I think this was my only return from Bucs training camp.
You can NEVER have too many Duke Snider autos! This is easily one of my favorite cards.
Pretty happy about this one. I know most don't like the job he has done as commish, but I still look up to the guy just because of his position in baseball.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
I owe Allen an assist. After he mentioned this card in a thread I decided I had to have one. One of the most underappreciated and undervalued football cards ever. The condition isn't the best but there's not a lot you can do when there's only 100.
Yes. The cards in the set are serial numbered to 1,500 but the first 100 of each were signed. For those who may not know about the set, it also included a Walter Payton/Barry Sanders card.

Wow - is that nice or what?? And there's a Payton/Sanders out there - very cool.
Great cards. The color and image on the '68 Ryan is incredible. I never liked the Ryan rookie. However, after seeing that card I need to rethink my stance on the card.
And with these 3 Rookie autos, i believe I now have all the HOF'ers, future HOF'ers and "steroid kings" from the 80s to the 90s.
I think that completes ALL of them, except for biggio (i have passed up a couple, looking for a nice one). I will scan them all once i have them all in psa/dna holders.

The Payton/Sanders is considered one of the greatest modern cards by some and rightly so I guess. At the time, Payton/Sanders were 1 & 2 on the all time rushing list. However, I think the Unitas/Manning should be a lot closer in sales. There were 2 copies of the Unitas/Manning and 1 Payton/Sanders to sell over the past couple of weeks. The Payton/Sanders sold for a good $800+ over the highest selling Unitas/Manning. FWIW the 3 cards mentioned were all raw.
there are mulitple pictures of goose on the card!!!

collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.
looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started
Here's what I received today, it's only my second graded card. I won this in Terry's contest last week and it arrived today. The coolest thing about it is that just before Christmas, I completed the 1982 Donruss set I started in 1982. Now, I've got a sudden urge to upgrade it to PSA9.
Thanks, yea missed him on my list, but do have his rookie auto already...thanks

Looks like Rose is delivering a baby, or collecting his winnings from last night's game.
First, and upgrade for my McCovey basic set... (once I upgrade the 61 to a PSA 8, I'll be "done" )
Additions to my ROY set... Tommy Helms - 1966 NL ROY
Jon Matlack - 1972 NL ROY; 1975 AS co-MVP (self-submission, looks like they messed up the flip a little) A solid rookie year earned him the ROY award in 72, with a 15-10 record, 4 shutouts, 169 k's, and a 2.32 era.
Eric Hinske - 2002 AL ROY (self-submission) An impressive rookie year with 24 hrs, 84 RBI, and a .279 avg looked like a sign of things to come. So far, it hasn't been.
Angel Berroa - 2003 AL ROY (self-submission) 17 hrs, 73 rbi, and 21 sb from a shortstop was enough to earn Angel the 2003 AL ROY. He hasn't been able to maintain that level of success however.
Ryan Braun - 2007 NL ROY Called up late in May, Ryan got to work immediatly, thumping out an awesome 34 hrs, 97 RBI, a .634 slg%, and a .324 avg (in just 113 games).
