So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
And this came with the James auto. I thought I was only getting the James but this was a nice surprise even though he's having a HORRIBLE year. If anyone wants it just pm me and we can work out a trade or sale.
A few odds and ends that I've picked up recently...
Both of these are proofs from the Topps Vault. The Fidrych is missing the All Star banner that appears across the bottom and the Topps Rookie Cup. The Oglivie is cropped differently than the final production card:

Two more...Will Clark Olympic cards. The first is from a Dairy Queen Team USA set produced by Topps in 1992. The second is from a UD Olympic set released in 1996.

Latest Ramly pickups. The first just got it at the house today. The Pfeister I just won on ebay...PSA 1, and the raw card...as long as it grades a 2 I did better than fine on that pickup!

Hey, I thought *I* was the only one that could post Will Clark items to this thread!!!! (I don't have the DQ card in the package...nice pickup!) Are you a big Clark collector?
awj - I collect '84 Team USA. The DQ set is cool because it has players that didn't make the 1985 Topps subset - most noteably, as you know, Will Clark. It also includes Barry Larkin, BJ Surhoff, etc. I bought a box that contained about a hundred or so unopened packs. I may have another pack with Will Clark on top. Shoot me a PM in a week and I'll let you know. Other than the cards contained in the 2004 UD boxed Team USA set, are there any other Will Clark olympic cards?

Nice Glavines. I am hoping to pick a few up after the recent hype dies down....seems his RC's have almost doubled in value recently.

Remember watching this game and being happy that Montana was getting pretty much shut out (as I was a Giants fan back then) and then......well, you know.
Hard to imagine one could not find a better team leaders photograph then this. The Dolphins only played the Steelers once in 1988, a 40-24 loss, so perhaps the photo is fitting for one of Marino's worst years. Blah, blah, blah....

That looks more like the Rams, and the Dolphins didn't even play the Rams in 1988. Interesting.

Yeah, I guess it is the Rams, and you are correct they did not play in 1988. They didn't play the Rams in 1987 either.1987 But did in 1986 in an overtime win 1986.

Little more looking. The Dolphins did not play the rams in 1984 or 1985, and Shawn Miller (shown in the card) played with the Rams from 1984-1989, so the photograph has to be from the 1986 game....unless it is preseason.

<< <i>I know..I know...SGC cards... but they are still from the Carter collection...my first two of his.
Just my opinion.... PSA are SGC both quality companies... no one needs to "qualify" their cards by stating this. To each is own.
