BigDaddyBowman - that Tittle is the gorgeous for a 6!
Here's my '51's that came in today (plus one). Don't you just love it when they all show up at the same time?
Note: I have a different Robert Williams PSA 7 NQ for trade that looks just as good as the one I posted here, but is a little more OC than the one pictured below. I'm looking to trade it for a different 1951 Bowman FB PSA 7 NQ that I need. PM me if interested. I will want a scan of your card.
<< <i>Congrats on the tickets to the induction. how tough were they to get. when favre goes in i want to be there. so any advise will be helpful. >>
Depending on who is being inducted, tickets are fairly easy to get. If you get several big names being inducted together or if their is a big name local inductee (Cleveland, Pittsburgh etc.) its a little tougher. They use to hold the induction on the front steps of the Hall...tickets were tough then. Now that it is held in the stadium, their is plenty of seating.
<< <i>Today's mail day: Surprised this didn't get a MC qualifier...this will be a fill-in until I find another.
Bought this one to upgrade the other...any opinions on which to keep and which to sell?
>>
The centering is better on the SGC card, but the tilting is also more pronounced on that one, the image appears better focused on the PSA card and the corners appear better on the PSA card, tough choice. Go with the PSA card, IMO.
<< <i>Though I don't collect football, I think vintage football cards have the most incredible eye appeal out of all the sports. >>
I agree. Just compare 1955 Bowman baseball and 1955 Bowman football. What were they thinking when the produced the baseball? I think that is possibly the ugliest set ever produced!

Personally, I'd keep them both. There's definitely a color variation going on there, and to see the difference with the two cards side by side is pretty cool. But if I had to choose, I'd keep the PSA one. It's in better focus than the SGC one.
Found this little (1 3/4" x 1 1/4") bronze replica of a 1986 Topps Pete Rose card. I have no clue what it is or where I got it from? I do have a box of misc. Pete Rose cr@p. I'll pull it out a year or two from now and wonder all over again!

I am not sure exactly what years Topps made those, but I believe they came in a set of 10 to 12 bronze mini cards that where actually wrapped in plastic wrapping and came in a special velvet lined case/holder.

You are correct. They came in bronze and maybe silver. There were also special ones that came with either traded set cases or tiffany cases. I have a few sets and some of the special ones as well. I dont have them at my house they are at my parents, I think not sure. When I track them down I will give you more info if you are interested.

This Grover Alexander is a one and only! I thought it was a really cool item!
Note: the Photo of Grover is in "reverse" (see the "backwards" spelling in his uniform and the "backwards" copyright sign.). My guess it was a mistake by the printer?
C'mon guys...what's going on here? How can the mail call thread be on page 4! I want to see more stuff!
Heres my newest addition and the last card I purchased before the National:
My wife said to me this morning..."I am going to the bank..how much cash do you want me to take out for the National ?" I replied "As much as you let me"...she replied "I don't care, whatever you want." I don't think she realizes how much "damage" I will be doing this weekend at the National! She's so naive! LOL.
Always thought that Emmitt was a cool card. (But Dallas still sucks!)

the PSA 6 is highest graded. and the Schalk (HOF) PSA 2 is theonly graded version....
to do this set,you got ot be in it for the long haul.....
The BCCG Perry, IMO, has a soft bottom corner, but my BVG's look just great! And I think all four might crossover to PSA as 9s or 10s! You think?
I've never had the heart to 'crack them out', as they look sooooooooooo nice in their BVG coffins!
