Hmmm ... nice give away tho' personally I'll stick to the sixties ... nothing quite like a 1965 Shelby GT for inspiration ... besides ... hanging out in a record store on Friday nights that still handles lacquer and vinyl ... pretty easy way to get my fix of music from 50's rockabilly thru 60's and early 70's rock'n'roll. Now ... if you are a true 50's relic ... I would presume you have a 78rpm jukebox ... none of this modern crap like CDs ... right???
You're having delusions of grandeur again. - Susan Ivanova Well, if you're gonna have delusions, may as well go for the really satisfying ones. - Marcus Cole
I have had a few antique autos over the years, none 1950s but the closest was a 1960 Olds 98 I had about 10 years ago. Styling was starting to tone down but it still had plenty of chrome and was a nice comfortable car to drive.
Thanks for the opportunity in this generous giveaway!

Lucy. please enter me in your fabulous giveaway! What a great prize package (and the coins would be cool too). Always felt that I was born 10 years to late as i came of age in the mid to late 60's, but have owned many fine cars from that era (really miss that 58 Impala) and like you have a substantial recording collection from that period.
Thanks again for the chance! While I am on the boards i have AOL radio on playing Doo Wop so I have the best of both worlds.
Since I missed the 50's by a couple of decades the only thing I can say about the era is that I (posing as the tooth fairy) gave my son a Frankie when he lost a tooth, he thought it was pretty neat.
Lucy, I can sure dig it! I can remember (at 12 yrs old) listening to Dick Biondi in 1956 ( on WLS) playing for the first time in the Chicago area "Heartbreak Hotel" and Dick telling the listeners that Elvis was going to be super big in Rock'n Roll. First 45 I bought was "Gonna get along without you now" by Patience and Prudence. First car was a '55 Chevy. The 50's were the greatest time to be growing up!!! Bill.
Yepper...penny loafers, scarfs for pony tails and da's, patsy cline, connie francis, pat boone, studebakers, little league baseball, puberty (well sorta), purple people eater, hula hoops, very rich stuff. So send the frankies already!

Geeeezzz...I used to listen to wls 890 chicago, dick biondi...he was a real original and kept a lot of younguns rockin! Man...drifting back in time!
Just had to edit this to add that I was in Texas at the time and the radio was my only connection to the world. I used to listen to the radio all the time. Believe it or not...there was very little tv back then, in fact we didn't get a tv till a number of years later so the radio was the main source of entertainment. But that Dick Biondi was my first major find on the radio other than The Shadow, Amos and Andy, all those fun things. Oh, here's a news flash...we all used to sit at the table together for dinner too. I had a paper route and used to throw papers from my schwinn, I used to save all my dollars and separate them out by issue and date and seals. I also used to go to the bank and exchange my paper route money for rolls of quarters and dimes and I even found a '09 vdb once. Ha...Dick Biondi, WLS 890 Chicago. What ever happened to him?
