Just heard that Scott Schechter is leaving Pinnacle
I just got the new Pinnacle Priority Selections newsletter in the mail, and there was an announcement that Scott Schechter is leaving Pinnacle at the end of May to become the Director of Marketing at NGC. I've only spoken to Scott once on the phone, and traded a few emails with him, and he seems like a nice fellow (he's a Harvard graduate according to the website, so he has some good paper as well). Does anyone know whether this director of marketing position will align with any client service duties at NGC?

good luck and have fun at your new job scott!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Scott's a great guy! While Feld was there I had a chance to meet him on several occassions and he couldnt be a nicer guy. With that background -- Harvard & Pinnacle -- he'll do very well @ NGC.
Congrats!

I've dealt with Scott numerous times and he was always easy to work with. I'm sure he'll do just fine whatever he decides to do.

For those not knowing the area Russ refers too.....well, that should say it all
Unless you have webbed feet, enjoy dismal, dreery, days, and enjoy hours of traffic, then this isn't the best area
but, we do have the best coin shows! Never have to worry about having enough time to see all the merchandise!
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Pinnacle is to be congratulated for hiring people of the calibre of Mark and Scott over the years; it says something about the attitude of that organization as well.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...

In June, I will assume the role of Director of Marketing at NGC. This is a new position, and principally I will be working directly with collectors and dealers on the Collectors’ Society and its various components including the Registry and Message Boards. I was first approached by NGC in January, and I have been overwhelmed by the amazing plans underway there as well as their earnest effort to improve the hobby and the numismatic community. It is this attitude, very similar to Pinnacle’s, that especially attracted me to NGC. I know that we will be able to better the industry and the collector experience.
(Certainly this isn’t the appropriate forum for me to talk about my future employment, but if you have specific questions, please feel free to email me directly at scott@pinnacle-rarities.com.)
I have been at Pinnacle Rarities for five years. While I did not initially seek to become a coin dealer, the opportunity and work environment that they presented was very tempting. I am very proud of my experience here, and cherish the relationships that I have formed with my colleagues and clients. I am also very grateful of Todd Imhof, Kathleen Duncan, and Doug Winter, who, in addition to being exceptional employers, have been very supportive in various aspects of my transition.
Has anyone thought of the fact that Todd/Kathleen/Doug is getting their tentacles in everywhere and if they need to consult with anyone they need to; that they have more and more friends everywhere?
