Sure, what difference would being Mother's day make?

  • My daughter was born on Mother's Day. Her Birthday and Mother's Day don't always coincide but we often have a party around then.

Anyway it should never happen because dealers don't like to do shows on Sundays right? image

I don't see why it would make a difference, especially if you are promoting your show as happening on every XX Sunday of the month. It might confuse people if it got cancelled or annoy people who show up to find it cancelled.

The local one here would never meet on a Sunday. But I probably wouldn't because I'd be at church and then visit mom. Wouldn't be worth going to in all likelihood.

    I would not.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

If there was a large Coin Show in my area on Christmas I'd attend. People who live near coin shows don't know how lucky they are.

Hmmm ... the local monthly coin show where I live is a one day only show on Sunday mornings. Gotta get there early depending upon how busy things are because the dealers have a tendecy to start packing up when things slow down. Usually around 1:00 which isn't bad since the show officially ends at 2:00. Gotta update my wish lists since the show is coming up this Sunday ...

It would be the hugest mistake the sponsor could make.
Funds are allocated for moms on that day.
Many do not have EXTRA funds.
Telling wives that they are going to a COIN SHOW would make a buncha lawyers happy.
    I would not do it.

I'd go..........but the GRAVY (the sellers who sell to coin show dlrs) would not attend.

You need a neutral day for a show.

I wouldn't, and if a show were to fall on Father's Day, I wouldn't be there, either.

    I would not go.

Ironically, I purchased my favorite coin from Doug Winter over the internet on Mother's Day, 2003:

Only if she was a coin collector!

    Joe.
  • As a Mother of two adult children, if they were interested in coins, I'd want to go to a coin show with them. The best gift they can give me is to share their interests with me. I'm always up for something interesting.
Only she who attempts the absurd can achieve the impossible!
  • Since I'm a mother, I'd say that we had to go and they could buy coins for me as my Mother's Day gift! image

If only my Mom was still alive.

That said, you better believe I would NOT attend. Although I think I did once when my Mom was alive. If I only knew then what I know now.
