These guys and gals have put together another great article on undervalued coins, that are affordable and just waiting to be added to many collections.

Pinnacle deserves our respect and admiration, as well as our business.

Doug Winter wrote the article. DW is widely known as an expert on 19th century gold coins (especially branch mints and $20 Libs), but what is not well-known is that DW has expertise in quite a few more classic and gold series.

I have trouble thinking of coins costing over $1000 as "undervalued." They're just not as overpriced as the rest.

I've always liked the 1847-0 and 1848 quarters. I was hoping to own nice UNC's of either date but never ran across one I really liked.
To think I sold AU-50's of the 47-0 for $200...15 years ago. Don't know if I'd say that these coins are way underpriced at today's levels however. They've advanced handsomely in the past 5 years.

Thanks, as always, for the kind words.

We understand clw54's general statement about expensive coins, and readily acknowledge that Pinnacle operates in a small niche of the numismatic community. Therefore, I'm sure our "market advice" offers virtually nothing to the vast majority of coin collectors. Moreover, I'll concede that dealers (and some collectors) who trade expensive items everyday can seem apathetic about these coins that are worth thousands, even tens of thousands of dollars!

Unfortunately, I think it's impossible to "be all things to all people". We chose this particular niche many years ago and strive to be the very best in offering expert advice and professional service to collectors looking to buy or sell these expensive pieces.

I don't see any mention of $10,000 Ike's in there. I think they missed that one. image
