Who knows. My WAG, VF details, corroded, Net F15.

I see where you're going, but that's not actually corrosion, thats porousity of the copper. Common to the series. Something about the softness of the copper used in this period, classic heads always seem to be a bit porus, and are almost never as sharp as Bust or Coronet cents.

    Corroded, porous, what's the difference?

VF+ details. Net Fine for value IMO.

  • NG 97 Environmental Damage.

It is what it would get @ PCGS. This is not the ANACS net grade forum.

It is what it would get @ PCGS. This is not the ANACS net grade forum.

The coin has a grade regardless of any damge and/or mishandling the coin has encountered.

That PCGS has chosen to bodybag MOST damaged and/or mishandled coins is their business. PutTogether asked to have his coin graded so give it a grade (if you can).

    Joe.

Well most dealers grade per PCGS/NGC standards and the only people who understand net grades are the 4 ANACS graders.

That's one of the most ridiculous things I've heard.

    VF net VG

I guess sherriff closed-mind deals only in pcgs-graded coins. image

Decent coin, VF+ details but very scudzy, yes porous is common with these but this is worse than average.

    VG++ to Fine imo.

There's not much in early copper that won't get a net grade.

    Fine-VF sharpness, heavy corrosion - net G-VG.

It's a slam dunk BB if you send it to the services. Would go into an ANACS or NCS holder with notations like those shown above.

What ER said. VF20ish details, porous. Porosity is typical for these but like others have said, I still think this one would bodybag.

But it's still an appealing coin, and it should have a place in somebody's Dansco 7070 instead of a plastic coffin, anyway.

(BTW, you still owe me a holey Bust half. Think you said your assistant was gonna mail it but it never got here. If your assistant really DID mail it and it got lost in transit, don't sweat it, I guess- I'm in a forgiving mood, thanks to my recent luck. My address changed in November. I forget when we last shot PM's at each other.)

PS- I like what 09sVDB said even more. F15 is closer to my gut on this, on second thought. Maybe net VG10-F12, pricewise?

Funny you mention it going into the 7070 as thats where this one has been for almost a year........but im considering dissasembling and selling the coins in my 7070. Maybe i'll put it on the BST and it can go live in someone elses.
