Care to take a guess on the grade? Also do you think it is AT or NT?

The color looks good, the thigh and breasts seem flat so

    I would say a very PQ AU-58.

You'll want me on your grading team today. I see nothing but a big old clash. Nothing else to bring it down. Looks MS to me and looks 66'ish to me. I like the toning. Looks natural.

NT. I have a seated half with very similiar toning. Looks like album toning.
    I agree AU58.

I never could figure out how to grade seated stuff but here goes.

NT. I note a number of ticks in the field and on liberty's arms, and what appears to be a scratch to the left of stars 12 and 13. MS 62 if that is a scratch. Otherwise 64

NT and I'll go MS62. I'm having a tough time with the cheek and hairline on the head. I can't tell from the picture if that is wear or not. If it is, I will agree with AU58. Either way, nice looking coin.

Those "ticks" are from the die clash. That's one of the coolest ones I've seen.

Grade: Looks like some rub, so 58. NT.

Nice coin -- let us know if you are selling it. image
  • It looks good, though I couldn't tell you AU/MS from the picture. Nice die clash. If it's MS, I'd say 64.

You guys are crazy, it is easily an MS-64 and the toning looks natural. If you have AU-58s that look like this, please offer them to me.

No, there is die clash for sure but there are also some small digs. And now that I look closer there may be a toned over scratch between the cap and 9th star.

My first impression was NT, MS-64.....

Then I looked at the name of the picture. image

    TommyType---You cheated!!!

Quite a range in Guestimates. It is very hard to grade from a picture.

This coin is in a PCI holder with the grade of 63. In hand you can tell quite readily that it is an MS coin. My concern was whether it was a 63 or 64. There are 2 small ticks in the right obverse field that may keep it out of a 64 holder otherwise the fields are flawless. I thought the clash was also very interesting and attractive. It will be going to NGC for crossover. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

This my only PCI coin and I spent alot of time looking for signs of an old cleaning or other alterations and didnt see any. If I am wrong it will be another checkmark in the learning column.

  • What generation PCI holder is it in? Was it a recent purchase?

Neat die clash. No way this is an AU coin. Nice toning. Looks 64.

Two small ticks will not keep an Unc. Seated Quarter coin out of an MS 64 holder. I didn't see the coin's reverse. The color looks fine to me. From the lighting, the viewer's lt. breast and lt. leg both look flat, hence the AU comments.

Actually, even if this was the case, MS 58-62 is a market grade "no-man's land" re classic coins these days.

NT MS64 as long as it shows as well in person.

    NT, slab grade MS-62.

    Actual grade AU-58.

It's worth more than MS-60 money because of the eye appeal, but there is a slight rub on the theigh and breast.
