Colorized/Painted SAEs

Does anyone on these boards collect painted Silver American Eagles?
I don't mean to be insulting, but why?
I think the design on the SAE is really beautiful. Those painted ones are ruining a perfectly good coin, IMHO.
Everybody has there own reasons to collect things. I collect stuff others might consider junk too (cough.... arcade tokens).
If you do collect colorized/painted/pictured SAEs, and like them, lets see a pic of your favorite.

You are right, IMO that is ruining a perfectly good coin (and wasting paint for that matter). I would never buy one just on principal. If no one ever bought one they would go away. However, drawing sharpie mustches on Frankies, now *thats* fun!
I bought a 2000 SAE with a hologram and I still like it.
<< <i>I won a colorized one at Dave and Buster's with my skee ball tickets. Sold it on e-bay for about $6. >>
Dave & Busters has these? That must have taken about 500,000 tickets!
Thanks to those posting pics. I am glad to see that the colored ones worked with the design rather than covering it up with Ronald Reagan, a yellow ribbon, or a firefighter. Nothing against those subjects, it's just a shame to hide the walking Liberty.
The blue one done by a 5 year old is precious. That's worth more than gold. (Can you tell I have kids too?)
edited to add: Umm, I was thinking about that blue coin and thought something frightening, "Look Daddy, you liked the coin I painted for you so much, I painted your whole collection for you."
To which you reply:

<< <i>Might as well post mine. Personally colorized for me by my daughter, age 5:

I've got one like that, but about three times darker. 1987 MS65-PCGS.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>How about those gold and platinum dipped State Quarters? >>
I sell the gold-plated quarters in my antique mall booth. I won't stoop so low as colorized ASE's, though. I think they're an abomination.
Speakin' of quarters, though, if you know anybody who makes or distributes the gold-plated quarters, I need three or four of each of the 2004 issues (P-mint only)... I typically buy them at FUN for a buck each. I just need a few to round out the stock in the display case.
And... a colorized $10 Indian!!!

Collectors Allliance, Inc. sells gold and platinum plated state quarters through Home Shopping Network.
maybe we'll have a nice astronomical bubble style run in PM prices over the next decade, and they'll all hit the melting pot when silver breaks $20/$25. we can only hope. ha.
some of the hologram pieces from the royal canadian mint are neat though, but i've yet to buy one. they've gotten into colorizing as well, even putting a colorized commem quarter into circulation last year.
if it adds to the coin, or *is* the coin, i don't mind the revolution of color or holograms, though i'd still pass on most of the pieces.
