Ohmigosh....that's like 3.5-4 months!!! Ouch! image

Well they raised the price from $16 to $18. That's so they can spend more time to get the grade right, hence the extra days. image

Could you predict the downfall of the coin market by PCGS wait time? As long as it's high the good market continues?

1/5 of a year. A lot can happen in that frame.

I'm over 70 so I'm not sure what they are talking about.

I wish it were only 70 days.

A four month wait for undergraded coins at higher cost ... and, what is your complaint? image

I propose a new measurement of time, a PCGS year. Right now it's 70 days, one guess is that's 1/5 of a year (on what planet?), another 4 months. A PCGS year will probably become 75 days in the near future. It's imprecise enough to have general bs-ing utility:

"It's ain't rained 'round these parts in a PCGS year..."

"I had this fungus on ma foots fer a PCGS year..."

"I ain't seen my coins in a PCGS year..."
    Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Apropos of the coin posse/aka caca: "The longer he spoke of his honor, the tighter I held to my purse."

The PCGS mile is the distance between recieving and the grading room. "It is just going into grading" means that Juan Valdez has started his long journey from the Andeas on his sick donkey with your coffee. It will be a few weeks more before it actually arrives.

"In the Sealing Department" means the donkey died and Juan is now on foot.
    When in doubt, don't.

Pharmer, that is hilarious! Dennis, if you wouldn't submit so many freakin' coins, we might get our orders back sooner...image

Juan dies when PCGS actually gives out grades the coins deserve(by old PCGS standards and collectors standards)! I just received my grades-coins will have to wait the PCGS year. My Ike's were graded by my local dealers at 64/65 and 65/66-he collects them in PCGS slabs. PCGS thought they graded right at 62 and 63-that's for the 1972-P type 2's!!! OUCH! Thanks God they were cheap for me to buy. NGC here I come on my next batch. The wait time wasn't TOO bad-they were received by PCGS on 3 Dec 04 in an economy submission. Rayimage

I've submitted 10 Morgans, lost the form, and actually have forgotten what they were. No problem you say PCGS? I won't be buying PCGS Morgans again until I figure out what I already have--When I'm a year older!!!

They're too busy grading "First Strike" SAE's.

ANACS is over three months also. (For economy service.) The grass isn't greener. You just keep a little extra green in your pocket.

Yes @ $10 but you can pay $15 (less then PCGS economy) for 5 or more coins and get the 5 day service.

There's just no way I would ever submit coin to PCGS with their current price structure and timetable. I'll buy coins already slabbed, but waiting 70 business days for a submission to come back is ludicrous.

It's not business days, it's calendar days. Still sucks, though.

But what is that in calendar days, around 45? Still beats PCGS by nearly a month.

The strange thing about NGC's turnaround time estimates is that they've beat them on every submission I've sent to them.

Bad news. I guess my additional $2 per coin for econ. service gets me an extra 5 days. I guess my Ktel Album order which used to take 4-6 weeks looks like rush service at this point.

That's not what it says here. "Turnaround (Business Days)".
