I feel more and more everyday like my coins own ME, not the other way around. They will outlive me by hundreds if not thousands of years.
I am considering renaming my set "Saints That JB Is Babysitting" .
We do NOT "own" these coins...we lease them.

Up the Prozac and send some my way, too.
I have heard others similarly state that they are custodians for the coins in their collections. It is a significant responsibilty to keep them safe and secure and out of the hands of those who might diminish their originality for short term gain.

You're absolutely right, and that it why it is incumbent on collectors to take the best care of their coins as possible. We are only their temporary caretakers; the coins themselves belong to the world.
I comsider myself a CARETAKER for everything I own.

Reminds me of Ecclesiastes.

fate catches up with each of us and all the things we treasure. Part of collecting is try-
ing to defy these odds; to deliver something to the future to remind people of the past.
One of the reasons collectors seek the finest is to present our age and the past in the
best possible light. It is the belief that not only are our old coins so fine but that they
were properly cared for such a very long time by a succession of those who cared.

BTW there must be a loan on that coffin.
When I go to be with the Lord, I'd want the cheapest funeral possible. I'm talking Hefty or Glad. Spend the 2-3 grand+ on the living.

When we sleep at night the coins laugh and talk to each other about all the collectors they've known and how some of us thought we owned them. As they say in Kentucky, "what a hoot!"

I hope my coins grade me at least a Choice AU as well!
“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”

I keep telling mine that sooner or later, when they pi$$ me off, they'll be a lump of nickel at the bottom of the lake. They tend to not bother me anymore.

Relayer is getting up there in age, so he had that casket custom made for him.
