I'm sorry you've been brutalized by that brutality...... fight the power.....image
My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable !
  • Just say NO to Robert Chambers and Paul Hollis...but say YES to Julie Tello...........each and every time........MMMMMMMMMM, Julie Tello (Homer Simpsonesque)

a fun little venting exercise is to cover the tv and surrounding area with some clear plastic and either squirt water or toss rotting fruit at the guys each time they perform some heinous act, (which, of course, is nearly constantly).

What, do you live out in the boonies where there is no cable?
  • If Julie's selling on CV, I'm BUYING!! I love it when she states some "fact" about the coin and Chambers jumps in and corrects her. Julie, I will teach you numismatics in a kinder and gentler way...... image

    Oops!
  • K6AZ - What could you possibly be referring to? Wait..........I think I might know...........SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

I just like her voice when she's describing the complete set of NGC MS69 SAE's (1986-2005) for only $900 (add as many zeroes as you like) plus some reasonable S/H/I! You get a NGC box thrown in for no extra charge! If Chambers was selling it, I wouldn't bite, but with Julie, well.....

I like the Coinvault!! Especially when they are discussing interesting educational topics like ms69 vs ms70. Unlike you guys, they can have a good enlightening discussion without flaming & calling each other stupid. One of the more interesting coin shows on TV. Hell it's the ONLY coin show on TV where I live.
Of course I've never entertained even the remotest slightest possibility of a thought as to ever seriously thinking about ever buying anything from them.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
  • Dog97 - Nobody flamed on this thread nor called anyone stupid! Now, CV is great entertainment - the "MS69 vs. MS70" discussions are informative, as you noted, but my favorite feature of the show is the "cyphering"

"Individually, these proof sets (insert any item in place of proof sets), have a catalog value of a minimum of $30 each, so these 25 in this offering have a minimum catalog value of, what, say about $800. (Stops, looks confused, stares into the camera, and says, that's closer to $750!)" Remember Jethro Bodine: naught plus naught is naught....carry the naught.......)

They're yours for only $539.99 (4-pay stretch pay of only $180) plus reasonable S/H/I."

I'd like to sell some of my holdings at his "catalog" value"

Yes, I live in the boonies, 25 acres in the middle of nowhere Mississippi, beyond the reach of cable. Just got DirecTV and Direcway Internet. Man, I had no idea how bad those two carnival barkers were.

I think that "The Coin Vault" is one of the comedy shows on TV. image

The sad part is when people buy from them it becomes reality TV. It's one of many ways that people can use to reduce their net worth.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
  • Within the viewing area of our Nation's Capital, the show only sells mint sets and State quarters. I wonder what they're

worried about--some Senators wife getting ripped off??

  • Prethen....she really doesnt do the show any longer....very very infrequently....go to, and not to buy, shopathometv.com, look under 'show talent' or something to that nature, and scan to Julie Tello....I think it will be worth the time otherwise wasted going to that website...but DONT look at the coins they offer, or it might make your viewing pleasure of Julie a little less pleasurable....

Now, I remember seeing her on the show awhile back. She's a total twit. Yep, she's not bad looking and worth a laugh when talking it up on coins.
