What is the best or proper way to tell a dealer you feel thier price is to high?

Don't buy. I will tell them directly that they seem high. I look at the sheet price with my dealer so I know exactly where they are and need to be.

That's pretty simple for me. If he notices you looking at your price sheet (CDN or otherwise) before or after he tells you the price, you say "No thanks, bye." Of course, I would wait for the "bye" part after I'm done looking over the rest of his stuff. In fact, I won't even say "No thanks" until I'm done looking. No use burning any bridges until you're all done, huh?

Cam40, That is what i will say when he calls me back. I left him a voice mail saying that i would go
2650.00. His coins are allways top notch so i`m willing to go more then 2550.00. Eager to see what his response will be.

Have you seen the coin in question? I really find it hard to believe that there could be a nicer VF30 than the one Steve Estes has. It's one thing to stick with a dealer who gives you a good value, but asking $2900 for a NGC VF30 is ridiculous. Speak with your money.

NO, have not seen the coin. Dealer will call me back. thats when i will find out if my offer is good and if he is willing to let me pad. If no go, Steve is another possibility .

Dealer lowered his price, also sent scan. Took the 79s, saint and lib $20.00 coins. Out of pocket $1400.00.
Chips fell well. thanks for the good advice. image

Easy. Take a sip of Coke immediately after you ask the price. If it's reasonable, swallow. If it's too high, blow the Coke all over his case.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Tell him you found it much cheaper in a full page, color, ad in Coin World image

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • I feel that if you ask for a price and don't think the price is fair then either 1.) say thanks and walk away or 2.) make an offer on the coin in question without insulting the man/woman!

Unfortunitly the receiving end. The bright side is, nine years of walking saved a ton of money that could be used to purchase coins. p.s. have license now, drive 68 torino VF15 condition. image
