Darn it, just got out bid on a magnificent 1919 LSQ UPDATED

I bid 5500 on a Bowers and Marino Auction and the bid is now up

to 6000 plus the juice. Its a MS-67* NGC coin and its just magnificent.

Guess I will just have to munch a jelly donut to settle my nerves.

I assume it is a FH (couldn't find it on B & M auction site). I'd pass. Lots of luster, but this date is often fully struck in supergrades; not this coin. IMO, I don't think the value is there re paying a big premium for a 7 over a 6 in this series.

ELC, I shair your view. As nice as the coin is, their is a limit to prudent purchases.

There will always be a next time in the auction circuit.

Bid is up to 6750 plus the 15% or $7762 dollars.

Bear, whenever I miss out on a coin, auction or otherwise, there is always another suitable coin just around the corner. Have a donut and some coffee, and before you are done with your snack, a replacement coin will present itself.

Yes its a stunning coin but you are smart to set a limit as to what you feel its worth.

If you tried to cross it to PCGS, and it came back as a MS 66FH, you'd be out alot more than jelly donuts !

Its a really nice coin and is certainly a prize. You ended up paying a princely sum for it too. Hope you wern't bumped too many times in the bidding process.

Now, is for a type set, or are you going on to complete the series ? The competetion on this series is tough enough without anyone else getting into the act
