1897 Morgan - would you agree with my dealer?

I'd like to get everyone's opinion of what you think this 1897 Morgan might grade. I realize it's difficult to tell from a scan, but was wondering
if others would come close to what my local dealer thought, which I agree with, btw image I'll post what grade he gave it later today (it's not slabbed).

It looks like at least a very nice 64, to go higher I would need bigger images.

I'll try to get a scan at a higher resolution with my scanner...haven't mastered my digital camera for coin pics yet image

From what I see, unless the ding on Miss Liberty's cheek is really nasty, I agree with the MS 64 designation.
    "Vou invadir o Nordeste,
    "Seu cabra da peste,
    "Sou Mangueira......."
  • The ding is actually very light, but looks a lot worse in the scan than it does in person.

    When in doubt, don't.

You didn't give a lot of time for people to respond at midnight last night! I would have guessed 64. The only reason I wouldn't have gone 65 is the dings on the cheek, but you covered that already.
  • Sorry that I didn't give enough time for more to respond. A couple of nights ago I posted a "guess the grade", and people seemed in a hurry
for me to tell them the grade before I went to sleep that night because I had to go to work the next day and it might be 12 more hours
before I could get back to post the grade! Oh well...guess I can't please everyone.

  • Smoe day when I learn how to scan coins with my digital camera instead of my scanner, I may be able to get a much clearer picture of my coins.

Luvdawgs, there have been many excellent threads about how to take good shots of coins with cameras. There are several still in the first ten or so pages on this board, you might want to check them out. If there is anything I can help you with let me know.

Thanks Eric. I'll check them out as soon as I get the time. The reason I haven't learned to take pics of coins with my camera is that besides
working a lot, things were quite hectic with the holidays, and other things going on in my life. Maybe when I retire some year I'll have the
spare time imageimage I appreciate your concern, though image
