Challenge on the Thread i posted last night

I Believe that i am correct, While others are still in doubt. I have no way to have this authenticated by PCGS or any of the grading services. However if someone, Preferably Russ, is willing to send it in and see what they Grade,
Certifiy, and Authenticate, Then i will do the following:

1.) I will send the coin to you, or directly to your Service to be checked out.

2.) If i am correct then we will have the coin placed for auction.

3.) I will split the proceeds from the auction 50/50.

4.) This means we both profit, and we both share all the fee's.

5.) If i am wrong, I'll not only come up with what i will owe for the grading service and repay you.
But, I will permanetly leave the forum. And i get the Lincoln back, Bagged or Tagged.

With all that said, Anyone who is interested (Russ, I Hope) PM me and let's figure it out.

  • Are you refering the 43 that was a repunched 44 Lincoln?

  • That's the one.
  • No need to go Michael Hutchins on us. image Hang around for a while longer.
  • yeah- hang around with these guys- they may at times be arrogant- but hell we all are, if you collect anything of any value on earth.

Why would you leave the forum based on the outcome of a submission?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • please don't go

Apropos of the coin posse/aka caca: "The longer he spoke of his honor, the tighter I held to my purse."

  • based on the pics - I think you're hoping just a little too much.

But - I'll be gald to submit the coin and pay the costs, on the condition that if it comes back either unattributed as a 44/43 restrike or is BB'd, you have to remain a member of the forum and at least post once a day for 10 years from the day your submission result is posted by PCGS.

The rest of your challenge is OK with me

Don't feel threatened, hang around. Most of us have made comments on this board that we wish we hadn't. And, from what I saw in the other thread, you didn't say anything offensive. It seemes as if alot were picking on you, but heck they do that to everyone.

Take my3cent up on his offer.

Good luck it should be fun!

  • Last thing i would ever feel on this forum is threatened, I just want to learn and teach others, That we can all be wrong sometimes. Some are alway's to quick to kick you square in the teeth. Guess we will know soon enough?image
  • I'd make 3cents send it to both ANACS and NGC just to be sure, and when you win he has to post the coin, with an explantion of how everyone was wrong for a week! The rest of the offer seems fair.

    Then we shall see.....image

  • I didn't realize we were talking two coins either. That could explain a lot.

<< <i><< Some are alway's to quick to kick you square in the teeth >>

And it may be that some here just didn't understand what you were trying to say in your post. >>

Or it may be that before he edited it, the thread title read "How about an answer, even some sarcasm from Russ." Thus the reason for my post in the thread.

Oh jeez, there are *three* of them?! From two different mints?! What a shame he didn't send them to someone who could have saved him the $100 in submission fees.

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.

  • ozzysdad - I didn't see the original thread on this, but as a Lincoln "wheat head" I doubt you have anything unusual. I may be wrong, but I like my odds. Why didn't you PM Chuck D. and let him look at them? Maybe could've saved you some submission fees and possibly some embarassment?

BTW, don't leave the forums over something like this - too much fun here to get offended over something like this......

  • I did talk with Chuck D. and he did offer to look at them. Then he posted a thread and said, he was getting out of coins and that he didn't want to hear from anyone about it. thus, my reason for the post and the challenge. As for embarrasment or humiliation, there will be none. I'm either right or wrong........ and i made an agreement with my3cents who was actually considerate enough to help. Not to mention he has taken his time and money, Both which are priceless and gone out of his way to help. Needless to say, But there are many on this forum who might could benefit from this and try to be a bit more open minded and less obstinant..... BTW, If i am wrong you guy's are stuck with me for the next 10 years. If i'm right, then i'm outta here and will send you all a post card.image

Guess what? Within a week he was back posting here (what a suprise).
