Sac 2000-D Millennium MS66 PL ???

I have a couple of Sac Dollars, 2000-D that were graded by NGC and were designated as MS66 PL, how much, if any would the designation PL ( Proof Like ) add to the value of the coin???

Thanks,
Jeff

Don't know. Sounds neat but don't know how common they are. Could you post a pic?

  • 252 of the Sac Millenium Dollars are in MS-66PL holders with 418 in MS-67PL and 106 in MS-68PL according to their pop reports. Only 7 so far were graded non PL!!!!

When these first came out in the Millennium C&C sets they were considered "burnished" or polished and could not be holdered. ICG was the first to holder the coins from these sets labeling the SAE as 2000-(W) with a grade and labeling the Sac as "Burnished" w/o a grade.

With the advent of the registry sets and an additional opportunity to pocket some easy money, both PCGS and NGC reversed their positions and began grading the sets. They actually put grades on the Sac Dollars, and yes, a polished coin is certainly proof like if you can get past the fact of how they became so.

NGC still won't put a grade on the Goodacre Sacs. Unless things have changed lately.
