Cropping photo's is a chore, but I recently finished the updated pictures for my Shield and Liberty Nickel sets (posted in my Registry Sets) ... thought I'd share a couple here

Mike,
Using a Fuji S3100 ... an outstanding camera, especially for the price. Also, check for a PM on another issue ...

the 1866 is a 55, the 72 is a 58, the 84 a 58 (which could go 63 on a different day I think), and the 94 is a 62

Good eye, a very unusual situation on the reverse die ...
I really don't know ... but this is what I wrote in part of my description of the coin, which could explain (but probably doesn't) ...
I'd love to hear other ideas
There was a definative re-cutting of the reverse die which seems to appear as an experimental pressure relief attempt; quite possible as striking problems, especially in the earlier issues of this series, are legendary. The rework evidence around the bolder devices (especially the 5) is noticable as a complete "step", but one with little depth cut into the die.
More likely it is some kind of die repair ...
