What is an O-103 on a 1803 50c - large 3 and guess the grade

What does Overton# O-103 mean?

Overton #103 is a die variety. The coins looks like a nice F-12 minimum, but it could be up to a VF. I'm too lazy to look for my grading guide and give you a definite answer.

Nice coin! I like it as a VF20, possibly even 25.

The O-103 paired obv. 1 with rev C. Look for a fine die crack at the top of Liberty, and another around States. Overton lists the marriage as R3 (scarce, 201-500 known) and recent ratings still agree.

I like that coin a lot.

Nice original surfaces, the reverse looks like it makes claims to EF40, but the obv has some circulation marks and enough wear to keep it out of EF, in my opinion, however, I would not be surprised at a high VF grade such as 30. super nice coin, and now for the ultimate compliment... is it for sale?

I was at 15 until I saw the reverse indicating that the obverse is a victim of a poor striking. VF25.
