These look too bright to me. Do you feel they've been recolored or touched up in some way? Thanks, Lee

ummmm, yes. I have seen these auctions. It looks like the ones that are being sold with the stamps right? All of those auctions are mostly XF-AU coins that have been cleaned dipped, or polished, and a poor job at that.

Could be - but the fields and the cheek look exceptionally clean, but seemingly without "wear". Whizzing can pick what gets "touched up", whereas a rock tumbler would "treat" the entire surface and give the coin a polished look, whereas whizzing gives the appearance of luster - BUT could be a combination of both or even photoshop - just doctor the picture. In any event the coin will be a no grade or ANACS net XF, certainly not Unc coins

The 1888 and 1899 are obvious tampering jobs. On both coins, the hair below LIBERTY shows wear, and the wreath on the viewer's left shows wear / flatness. On the 08S, the wreath on the viewer's right shows wear / flatness on its upper portion. Can't tell whether the LIBERTY on the 08S shows slight wear, or it's a bad image.
This is not the standard cleaning that you see on IHC sliders. Typically, the luster is dead and they have a pinkish hue. However, with all of the software out there, who knows how true this image is re the color in any event.
