  • The light is very bright and doesn't show any of the coins luster. Can you get a pic with the luster showing and not washed out with the light?

It's realy impossible to assign grades like MS-65 from a photo. This coin could be anything from a well-struck, but polished piece to one of those 100 so Proofs that were made of this issue. You can't really assign the individual MS grades based on a picture. You have got to do in person.

I'm sorry I can't give you any more than non answer. image

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
  • Those little hits in the sail would not keep the coin out of 65 contention, but it is very hard to tell what he rest of the coin really looks like from those images. The coin look a little proof like..... is it?

image Bustman that's a nice catch. It does have a PL Obverse. I'm sorry but these are the best pictures I can provide at this time. Would enlarging them help? Lee

    No.

You can't see the luster and it could be anything from a cleaned coin in AU to MS-65.

You can't get a good idea of grade from angled pics like that. You need straight on shots to see the details.

  • It is not the angle. It is the lighting.

    Actually, I think it's both.image

It is already bid to more than is acceptable to risk on a raw one.

Thankyou Coinguy. It is both. Can't have one without the other in this situation.

I agree, can't tell a grade from a photo, but that is a great looking coin.

    Nice pickup.

Currently Bid at $115 for this Raw Coin on eBay. I'm with Russ on this one. Don't know this type well enough to go crazy on it. Three hours left if anyone else want's to check it out. No return policy listed. Sent email and response was afraid of coin switch. So I take that to mean win the bid it's yours. Heres the link:

I don't believe the coin would certify as uncirculated. JMHO.

MS-64 imo, a no-question choice unc. that said, these are way common up through ms-64, & i would never stretch out for 1. also, they are not rare semi-pl or pl.

a real proof, now that would be a different matter....
