Three nice early date Kennedy Half Dollars (2 business strikes, one proof).

The 1968-D is a lock MS66. Not only does it make the grade on a technical basis, it has "the look" that makes PCGS graders get all hot.
The 1969-D is a technical MS66, but may grade only MS65 because it doesn't have "the look." Still a very nice example of a tougher year.
The 1970 proof is a PR68DCAM that looks better than that. It has a hairline above the motto that isn't showing up in the image.

I was telling Marty the other day, anaybody can make proofs. Real men make business strikes.
and it sets us apart from practitioners and consultants. Gregor
I can't get any of my pics of proofs to be as nice as the coin looks in-hand. Great coins!

I comes very close from a contrast standpoint, but looks slightly worse than in-hand because an image can't give you that cool twirling under the light brilliance reflecting off the mirrors.

I honestly don't think PCGS graders get hot over any Kennedies they get to grade.

Just the other day I was chatting with them and they said they were glad to see some nice Kennedys because they were sick of seeing the junk that Kiefer kid kept sending them.

Sleep well tonight for the 82nd Airborne Division is on point for the nation.

<< <i>is it the far cheek luster breaks that keep the 68-D form 7? >>
That, and if you look carefully at the reverse, you'll see a little ding at the top of the tail feathers below the shield.
BTW, for those not familiar with these, both pieces have amazingly clean shields for these years.
