Agreed, Sunday morning. Anyone has a few extra rolls of cents to redeeem at the bank. Only $107 left to hit $1000!

Do not feel that you have to give lots of money each. Charity starts with any loose change!

Knowing Boom, he is streching these bucks to make these dollars buy at lot more for these kids and families than the dollars involved.

Do you believe in Miracles? I have had people I do not even know, that have not given me Forum IDs, that have officially put us over the $1000 mark. I have witnessed things that NEVER in a million years would I have expected to see, happen!

You should all be so very proud as yourselves as your unselfish acts of true kindness will make differences in many peoples' lives. People you will never meet in THIS lifetime.

I am truly amazed and moved by all of you! Yes....and they said it would never happen. Looks like "THEY" were wrong about you all. Thank you all for believing in ME.image

A few people have been curious about where the money will go, "What Organization"? Well, it didn't start out that way. It was meant to help those with the least.

Well, this has really grown and the more I look around, the more I see people hurting in some way or another. I have already earmarked a few truly needy families and individuals. There is this one elderly lady who has absolutely No one. To top it off she has Cancer and is almost completely blind. She actually has to walk when she absolutely MUST get out. She cannot afford the medication she so desperately needs as a result of this dreaded disease. The Bank where I conduct business chose her and so I made it known that we want to help too.

I mentioned the St. Francis Diner that depends solely on contributions to provide hot meals everyday of the year for the truly needy and then the Solomon House, the Social Service Center, SNAP- for abused people, The United Way, another organization simply known as The Milk Fund, Toys for Tots...the list goes on and on. These organizations will receive funds from "Caring Numismatists at Christmas"(anonymously), not The B00M Foundation...in fact I have arranged for my name to appear NOWHERE but 2 things I will make abundantly clear. #1) This is somewhat straying from the original intention and #2) If I do as some would suggest, there goes Anonimity and I WILL NOT "Ham it up" for any camera as it defeats the whole purpose. Therefore I will appoint someone to deliver Money Orders with perhaps a footnote referring to the aforementioned or Collectors Club Donation.

I don't know but I DO know this is just a little difficult trying to remain anonymous yet prove that I am doing what I said I would do. I just came from my Bank and they pick one family that really has it BAD and I made it clear we want to help but #1- I want to remain anonymous and if anything funds would be made out from the "Caring Collectors Club". Basically we would piggyback off the Bank and for proof, should anyone here require it, Mrs. Theriot (the Mgr) would help me come up with something.

We agreed, Ms Theriot and I, that necessities should be bought...not to give money because, well..... they may spend it unwisely...let's put it that way. You don't give a street person who is freezing to death, living in a box with no coat, MONEY for that coat they need because they, in all likelihood, WON'T buy the coat, they'll buy..."other things" (if you know what I mean) YOU BUY THE ACTUAL COAT AND PUT IT ON THEIR BACKS!!

There are plenty "Organizations" to give to yet sometimes the Red tape the beneficiaries must go through is overwhelming and STILL they may not be chosen. It's a good thing that I have lived my entire life here because I KNOW who is needy and what they are in need of but then how am I supposed to obtain proof from the recipient that we gave such and such, again trying to remain anonymous? Right... I tell ya, this is pretty stressful but well worth it in the end.

EVERY City or Town has needy and have "The projects". You think you're tough? OK, here comes this White guy with all kinds of goodies and a little money and all the Crack heads, wine-os, "Players" and gangsters see him coming. Tell me you can go in by yourself and not be afraid for your life and I'll tell you Chicken have teeth too. RIGHT! Doing this in broad daylight is enough to bring on the "fight or flight" Syndrome but YOU try going in alone at night with groceries and toys.

People kill for $20 to buy a "rock" or because they want your tennis shoes or for even less....because you looked at them funny or "dissed them"...that's their reason. Is it any wonder I have to do this alone? Not many volunteers for this part of it.

Any of you that gave want to come down here and help carry this out? Bring it on! Don't worry, Ole B00M'll get it done and NOBODY will lay a hand on me. I'll go in alone and don't need backup. I'll be paying attention....BELIEVE THAT! You don't do this every year and survive by being stupid and NO, I won't be "packing" either! I'M SURE.image

Anybody want to come along for the ride and bring a camcorder so there can be documented Proof....Come on down!image

I have to hand it to you, Proof....you've been a big help. My email has been down, off and on, for days now. Partially the server and partially all this security. If anyone goes Svc Pk 2, get the disk, I DID! Works great, Then go to lavasoft and get an AE Personal scanner.

Work with these volunteers and get a "Hijack this" scanner, send the logs to these folks to analyze and then come back with SpyBlaster, Spybot and finally Norton's 2005 Internet Security package and man I don't even have so much as a daily tracking cookie (data miner) to contend with.

I didn't realize I had to fine tune this version of Norton so much and found it real quiet around here. If you don't tweak your mail you're in for a big surprise. So....if anyone tried emailing me the past several days and didn't get through....sorry! Fort Knox has NOTHING on me!image It's almost like a cloaking device (the Star Trek kind) so much so that eBay has fits trying to identify me. BTW...the ebay tool bar is "spyware/ malware"..... think about it. No more Gator, no more dbl click, no more tracking cookies. I don't want the world, the internet, in my house!image Even PCGS' cookie crumbles!

Man, if I survive this next week I'll be surprised. I'm already burnt out. I need a nap. I'm not sure but I think I emailed some documentation to oreville showing where some of your gifts have gone. If not, I must have dreamed I did. Anyway, when I wake up if I can find him we'll see about getting it posted up here and provide an up to the minute report. Too tired to write about it now. Catch you guys after while.image

As your representative I let as few people in on this as possible, namely, Ms. Gina Theriot, Branch Manager of Iberia Bank, for one. I have her contact information, as should David Hall, should anyone want or need it "proof" that I am indeed doing exactly as I said I would....I had Ms. Theriot send a letter of thanks to David Hall on behalf of all of you. I told you all that I wished to remain anonymous, therefore I had a Bank Check made out endorsed to Gina by me but in your names, on behalf of all the caring people here at PCGS, that was put together with funds from Bank1One and together was given to Mrs. Hicks as the neediest amongst us.

Each year the Bank picks out THE neediest people to help and I thought that "Piggybacking" would be absolutely perfect. Ms. Paula Hicks is dying of Cancer yet never complains. She cannot afford medication or medical treatment and suffers quietly. Although legally blind, when she absolutely MUST go somewhere, can you imagine....SHE WALKS! This is bad enough but do you know that this was once a quality human being that was responsible for teaching many people in our local School system? Now they don't even own furniture on which to sit, but thanks to you and Bank1One she will not only have a couple of chairs and a few pieces of furniture, She'll go to the doctor this month and she will have the medication this brave soul has somehow been able to do without. We are taking steps to get this sweet, brave human being things she needs, including medical attention and medicine so that she can depart this existence with a little dignity restored and a bit more comfortable. Take nothing for granted, everyone, because when I gazed upon this woman I thought, "This could one day be ANY ONE OF US!" That smile and the tear running down her cheek, a tear of gratitude and not being able to see us was, again, perfect, and made me wish I could do more....and I think I will.

I have another meeting with the same bank tomorrow-today. Out of our funds we gave this lady $200 in conjunction with what Bank1One gave. She said to tell each and every one of you. "Thank You!"

Sunday I approached our Parish Priest and told him what we had done and that we wanted to help the neediest amongst us. Now, he is a Brother Knight of mine and when that capacity we have protocol, a certain code of ethis and Charter we must follow. His reply was simple, "God moved you to do it therefore YOU will see to it." I know who THE neediest is in our Parish and what their needs are. This person, "Boss" Jones is in a bad way( I almost said the Jones family but his Mother has recently passed away and now he is all alone as well) and between just these first two people I could have given it all away but I, on your behalf, donated $330 to them in YOUR Names. The strangest looks came over these people as they asked, "Who is doing this for us?" People that care and that you will never know". This kind of stuff tears my heart out but I gotta do what I gotta do. Total donated (running)- $530.00

After I meet with Ms Theriot again, I'll be on the way to see the editor of our local newspaper. I know him and he will honor my wish to remain anonymous. Once again, in your names, a Program Named "Help The Helpers" supports the following: 1) Social Service Center 2) The Milk Fund 3) St. Francis' Diner that feeds people everyday free of charge, is dependant solely on contributions like yours 4) Iberia Homeless Shelter 5) SNAP- Safety Net for Abused Persons 6) The Solomon House and 7) The New Start Center, will each be given $100.00 in your Names. I'll give it to the Editor and He will present it in your Name- Running Total $1230.00.
ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL, FOR ALL THAT YOU ARE AND ALL THAT YOU HAVE ARE GIFTS FROM GOD TO BE SHARED WITH EVERYONE! Never forget this!

From there I am off to several stores as I have obtained lists from several entities, to buy toys for little children. to buy coats for people I know first hand do not own even ONE and then to the Grocery Store to buy Turkeys and all the fixings for those that are able to prepare their own and will distribute the groceries. Then I will come home and stash things away that will keep several of us cooking then delivering to people that are unable to do so themselves. The toys, jacket and then the meals will be distributed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. IF YOU EVER WANT TO EXPERIENCE CHRISTMAS, I URGE YOU TO DO THIS FOR JUST ONE YEAR... you'll never forget it.

We 4 will make up the difference monetarily in whatever it comes to and all funds will have been totally exhausted and put to good use. THIS is Christmas for me. There is no other feeling that can compare to it when all is said and done. I would personally like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart, for believeing in me and this most worthy cause. I am certain God will bless each and every one of you that gave. To those that couldn't or wouldn't, I'm certan there was good reason yet your names are included as donated by the PCGS Collectors Club Members as well, Merry Christmas, everyone!

Now if only someone would buy my coin I could really go at it....it's like an addiction and maybe, just maybe, one day when I'm old and all alone, someone just may come around on Christmas and remember, if but for one day, some old timer that once was somebody....Now wouldn't THAT be something? WHAT IRONY!image THANK YOU GUYS AND GALS....image

Came in for just a second then back out I go. Thank you Kurt and you, Mr ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ VERY MUCH. All I can say besides thank you and wishing you all the best "ZZZZZZZ" is I am overwhelmed and this will help, ironically, yet another person much like Mrs. Hicks that the Bank spoke to me about just this morning and many others as well. What unselfish generosity. I want to have the honor of meeting you one day and shake your hand. Well, back at it. Gotta go....busy, busy, busy. This is wonderful!imageimage

I just wanted everyone to know that indeed Boom has been emailing me lots of documentation for me to post on this thread so that you all know that the money is being donated to the various needy who other charities seem to have skipped this year.

I am still receiving documentation (copies of checks and letters from organizations and individuals thanking us for the donations) Monday morning and have not had a chance to post them here.
I have been so busy at work!

I hope you can all wait until Xmas day for me to get them posted!

I apologize if that is not fast enough for you as Boom admitted to me that he is even worse than I am in posting these things! image

Thanks Michael. NO.....actually it is all of you that have been so generous that are great. I cannot believe this has really happened and never have I been prouder of people than I am of all of you right now! I only wish you were here to witness what MY eyes are seeing as I make my rounds. The expressions on these peoples' faces are priceless..

It's really hard to do this without being "touched"....touched by all of you as well as by the looks these people give me. The utter amazement in their eyes as they look up at me wondering, "Who is this guy that will not even tell us his Name" and "Who or what is this PCGS?", is priceless.....and actually fulfilling in a way incomparable to any other emotion I have ever experienced.

I still have a LOT of work to do in the next 60 or so hours. People to see...places to go.... kitchen detail, wrapping of gifts and distributing that aspect of it. Our kitchen will be in high gear as will be my lifelong friend's and my Mother's. It's a special feeling and to think that all of you stepped up in such a big way makes me proud to represent PCGS. I wonder what HRH must've thought when he received that email from the Bank, complete with the Manager's signature and personal contact number. I truly hope he didn't mind me saying that this and everything was from PCGS Collectors Club members and friends. There were times that I had to go to some length to remain anonymous. This isn't for the camera, the newspaper, or for pats on the back. It's quite fulfilling to do things this way and to quietly walk away without fanfare yet a smile on my face and a tear in my eye at the same time when no one was looking. Ohhhh, but there is Someone watching and I get the feeling He is smiling.

Well, I have a long day ahead of me and it's really cold out....the perfect time to be handing out coats etc. What blows me away are the people that stepped forward that I don't even know and stepped forward in a big way, some more than once. Well, as I said, I've got a big day ahead of me and I need to get moving. Thanks from me to each and every one of you. There IS a lot of truth to it being more fulfilling to give than to receive. Gotta go....you guys have a great day. Peace.image
