FANTASTIC NEWS....I have a pledge for $200.00 from a major dealer who wishes to remain anonymous. He does not do this for publicity but after asking speaking with me and being made aware of where the money would go he made his pledge and wished me well and asked me to list him as an anonymous dealer with the hope that other dealers would follow suit.
If anyone has the least bit of doubt about the integrity of this cause, let me assure you that every last dime will be given to the most needy. Besides buying gifts for poor children that would otherwise not have a Christmas, the kids that have never known their biological fathers, the downtrodden, depressed reclusive shut ins that had something happen and changed their lives dramatically forever. Besides preparing meals for these folks and letting them know SOMEBODY cares, if but for one Special Day. buying coats for those that have none, I want you all to know that it doesn't stop there.
Perhaps you've heard of The Solomon House or SNAP- for abused people, the local Social Services Center, the St. Francis Diner and other worthy charities, we give to everyone we can. We try to make a difference in as many lives as possible. Besides being a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 12997, Member # 3817200, I belong to several Civic Organizations but as I've said all along, just as this dealer that made the pledge understands, I do not do this to be noticed or to draw any attention to myself.
To do so would ruin everything. It is very satisfying to help others anonymously. There REALLY IS something to this! Try it sometimes. It's like no other feeling you will ever experience. How many of you are familiar with the Beatitudes?
Thanks everyone....I have to stop for a bit as you all have really touched me and I am quite proud of each and every one of you... Proud to associate myself with you all. Happy Thanksgiving all. ttt
Not at all, Relayer, my friend! I have a big announcement to make and would appreciate some input. A major Coin Dealer has just over-nited via Fed Ex $200 to this which has now become YOUR charity...ALL OF YOU. He asked to remain anonymous but wanted me to post this in such a way as to throw down the gauntlet, with the hopes that other dealers and perhaps even PCGS personell would follow suit. Point is this. People are getting used to seeing this thread. Just how do you guys think I should go about this new challenge? Any ideas and or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
This is no longer the anonymous good works of an individual but now a body of collectors and now dealers who believe in me and when that sinks in it really blows me away. Rest assured, you all have my WORD, that every last dime will be distributed not only to a few needy families, underprivileged children and reclusive shut-ins, but will now reach out to as many different organizations as there are funds.
Some ask me about a tax write off. Listen, this is NOT about a write off or some tax shelter. What started out as a simple act of kindness 27 years ago is now growing strong. Question, should I post a new thread and raise the stakes and issue the challenge or just what would those of you that are a part of this, or plan to be, think I should do? This is very, very real!
Thank you for clarifying what you meant. This choice of words is much more acceptable and appreciated, as is your unselfish act of kindness. I will do my best but if you read my opening post I do not do this for publicity, attaboys or any other type of accolade. A picture or two may be taken but this is not for show....it's to be done anonymously. I can just see myself posing, hamming it up for the camera....NOT!!
Thank you. It's the thought that counts and it IS appreciated. Someone sent me an NTC coin to auction for the charity. Well, I don't deal in NTC coins, 99% PCGS, 1% NGC, so I had to do some explaining in the item description, sorta like a disclaimer because I'm not going to jeopardize my reputation for, shall we say....a coin of questionable grading.

I must respond: Today, admittedly, pps need to be careful in their day to day activities, especially on the net. However once in awhile you need to take a chance on trust. This planet is not a very trustworthy place to reside. I am a very optimistic person but at the same time, very skepticle. But the needy, that come to depend on these type donations should not be made to pay for this. I encourage everyone to take a chance on this cause, I mean $5 - $10 will not hurt your budget. It will make you feel a little better and what matters most, YOU helped! And finally, If this were a hoax, you can still think "At least I tried". Thank You
Well, the process has already begun and three weeks from tonight it will be Christmas Eve. Like a Scout doing his scouting report I've already started the proverbial ball rolling. To those that have given, I would like to once again say "Thank You".
By the Friday before Christmas Eve I will have laid out what entities, besides individuals, will receive YOUR gifts. I will post several more times between now and then to let you know what is going on. It's not too late...never too late to help someone deprived of basic human necessities. I'm beginning to feel that Rush already and have my little helpers lined up along with their assigned duties. All night Christmas Eve and all day Christmas Day it is going to be very, very busy around here!
I'll fill you in with the details as we move along.
