Dog Poop - How can you buy an 1828 that is corroded. You can buy a choice uncirculated coin for around a thousand bucks. For $2000 you can get a choice uncirculated with red on it.The 1828 with 13 stars is the most common capped bust half cent.
Dog poop!! Thanks for your opinion and you may be correct I thought it didn't look quite right but the seller say its problem free with a 5 day return policy .and I don't have $2000, bucks im willing to spend on a half cent but for $50.00 I can fill a hole in my album. If it turns out to be corroded it will go back.

I don't think there is much question about the corrosion--why go to the trouble of buying it and sending it back--why not shop around and find a better--if somewhat lower grade, that is pleasing to the eye?
This coin probably has close to EF sharpness, but the surfaces are dark and corroded. As such it would net grade to Fine-VF and not be a quick seller except at a bargain price. It would get a body bag if it were sent to PCGS or NGC.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
I like it to. No its not regestry quality, but it didn't set me back a grand or two. If it fits within the relm of the description I will keep it if not it goes back.
