I just talked to Frattlaw on the phone and he informed me that he has been banned from the forum. I bring this to you because there could be some of you who have been trying to get ahold of him and can't. He told me to post his email address for people to stay in contact with him until he resolves the issue and returns. Reach him at frattlaw@prodigy.net
Peace...

Not completely sure, because I haven't read much in here lately. All I know is that he doesn't know exactly what it was either but discussed some possibilities with me that I am not necessarily at liberty to discuss. NONE of it sounded like anything that should get someone banned, pretty much the regular stuff that happens around here with people discussing how long it takes for them to get their submissions back.

I had planned to speak to Michael on Saturday about something else - the list has just grown.
5. He insulted those with mullets on the boards.
4. It was discovered that he has connections to OBL.
3. Lecherous Cameron Kiefer tricked him into posting a nudey photo.
2. Anaconda had something to do with this conspiracy.
1. It was discovered that he might be an honest lawyer.

reason enough to be banned.

There are far worse characters around here than Frattlaw! WTF?!
Just a theory.

Why would someone get banned over a private message?

Yeah. I read right here on the 'net that there are people out there that actually like birds! Who could like an animal that thinks it's funny to crap on people's cars?

Maybe it was for Bol$hitvism!!
There is something we don't know here.

Thanks.
I was slammed for using the stock icons (they belong to someone), and I am too inept to post my own. Hence the "Red X".
<< <i>There are a lot of vicious folks on this board. >>
I agree. They just keep attacking the stupid idiots.
I wish they would quit.

I think Frattlaw being banned is seriously lame......
very nice guy that spoke his mind but did so politely and fairly.
I enjoyed most all of his threads, especially the one where he was toning stuff!!

Define "the line" please...CU certainly won't.

I have also noticed a lack of Leo....Mr Platinum.
Think there is a coincidence? Or, Laura, is this one of those things that people shouldn't speculate if they are just collectors?
For those that want CU to give a line and definitions, I think guidelines are fine but there should be no clear cut line. Too many people always like to push things to the edge. Why not just be civil and mature then there won't be problems, right? We all get heated but some take it too the extreme.
Those that get attacked often attack back. It can often escalate quick nastily.
Others come on this board and have a total lack of brains and it shows.....they want to jump on others or talk about suing. If you post, be prepared for negative as well as positive about your post.
Anyway, I didn't have much interaction with Frattlaw and didn't want any Peace dollars so he wasn't competition (and, he even has a different birth year, so I have nothing against him and no competition with him at all) and am sad that he is banned. But, I wonder why? Did he push things too far? Was it jesting or was it not thinking?
I think many more people should be banned than are. I don't always think it is a popularity thing (though, I am certain that it is sometimes) but that seems to be the whine every time it happens.
1) PCGS Forums are run by CU, not YOU
2) It is free but is not FREE (in other words, there are borders and rules....try to adhere to them)
3) No one on the forum is "above the law". Doesn't matter how much you help others, how much you submit, or how many "you sucks" you get. Realize it
4) If you have pushed the buttons repeatedly, have badmouthed the owners of the board, been a royal pain in the butt, then own up to it.
5) If you get banned because of repeatedly pushing the buttons, then don't whine about it
6) Every story has 2 sides. But we often hear 1 side. Sometimes, if the other side were told, the person banned would look even worse. CU seems to take the quiet/high road a lot in not talking about it.
So, with all that said, I, too, await hearing why Frattlaw was banned (and if Leo went with him....I think Leo crossed the lines more than a few times)

Frattlaw posted many educational threads and he was always here to help. I don't know why he got banned, but I am guessing that it's because he crossed the line with PCGS too many times. "crossing the line" means pushing PCGS to improve their turn around times and honor late grading fees. Just a guess. I hope that PCGS and Frattlaw can talk and he can come back to help out around here. We need the intelect around here.

This street runs both ways. The CU forums would be worthless absent members.
The forum would be worthless without customers, you are right. But, you know something, there are always more people coming in to the forum and there are a number of people still coming here that don't cross the line, aren't here for the arguments, and want to discuss coins.
It isn't like CU is clamping down on everything, but, it is obvious there are limits to their patience.
Name 1 person who has been banned for politely asking about a coin, posting nicely about a coin, being civil, not arguing nor getting drawn into arguments, etc. I can't name one, but, I have only been here for a year and a half and haven't paid attention to the bannings. Maybe you can name one?
I think more than a few have gotten close to getting banned and have been warned. My only issue is if they were warned, did the others, with no warnings, really do worse? Or, should they all have been banned?
Take a look over on the ngc board.....they have now said there is NO political posting due to excessive need of moderation. That hasn't happened here. There is plenty of moronic politic bashing on the OF. Imagine the backlash if they demanded no more political posting, anywhere, on the board. Imagine more moderation. To some, that is blasemy (sic) for others, that would be a godsend (to keep order and on topic posting).
Sigh.....I just wish people would acknowledge 2 sides to every story rather than seeing a "friend" get booted and thinking how bad CU staff are (and, I personally think PCGS should improve their turnaround times, honor their guarantees without needing to be pushed on it, etc, but that is neither here nor there).

I'm hoping we see him back shortly.
