That seller's images look strange. Either the coins have been dipped excessively, or the photos are "black and white". There's no "silvery" color to any of the coins -- they all look dull gray. They may look much better in hand, but the images are not very flattering.

Huh?! What are you talking about?! This coin has almost certainly NOT been dipped, and it is certainly NOT a black and white image... for the uninformed, this is the way that silver naturally tones, especially on circulated coins. Look at Circ Barbers, Busts, Halves, Walkers... don't see many circs that are still white that have been dipped...
It's a Zincoln cent I dug up in my back yard.I've yet to dig a zinc that was'nt pretty ate up,but this'uns my worst. If my pics were sharper you could make it out.
Granted, that is not the ugliest looking coin I have seen, yea, I have ugliier ones, but I if were selling my coins I wouldn't sell a dog and post it as an AU when it looks like it has the chicken pox. That's my whole point of the post. That sure doen't look like a naturally aged coin unless it was laying in the ground for one hundred years.
Some of my "dugly" (dug ugly) Indians. Dig the 186(5?) on the left.
Jeremy's Bust dime's a classic, mostly because of the slab label.
But wjd83's zincoln is the winner so far.
I actually do not find that Morgan ugly at all. It's a little dark, but not too bad. I don't hate it at all. In fact, it looks like a pretty decent, original, circulated coin to me.

Hi Bruce, nice to meet you. Having said that, I can honestly say I have not disagreed with any single post in the forum more than your's, right now (and, believe me, there have been some doosies).
I see a naturally toned, attractive, choice circulated Morgan that appears to be a pretty nice coin. If you think this is a dog, with chicken pox that has been buried for 100 years I honestly would like to see a few pics of your collection.
I could not disagree with you any more. Perhaps the seller imaged his coin poorly, but the whole point of my post was how he grotesquely exagerated the condition of his coin. If that coin is an AU I'll demand a refund from my opthamologist for my Lasik surgery. There is no way that coin is a nicely toned circulated coin. It has been harshly cleaned and it has multiple shades of grey and brown color with pox marks. Give me a break.
I saw an 1895 Morgan in Proof 12 (that's not a typo, I said TWELVE) once. That was pretty ugly. If it wasn't for the date being issued in PF only, you'd never tell it from any other low grade circulated Morgan.

No, I think mine is the ugliest

This is not the ugliest coin I have ever seen.

I don't find anything wrong with it. Mind if you post some of your coins so we can criticize them?

Even if it were cleaned or doctored, there are thousands of uglier or more misrepresented coins on eBay.

Not sure if I'd pay full EF money for it, but that doesn't look too far off to me.

Definitely cool, in a scatological sort of way.
