How can they be cameo if there's no coins?

I'm not certain the winners were "duped." It could be that they want to pop some clad proofs into these holders and sell them as silver proof sets.

Another rip off on the way. Buy your proof sets here.

  • this is just an auction for unscrouplous sellers. They can buy the package and the COA, put in whatever they want, and peddle it off as the real thing.

what other reason would you buy it for? image

I may be that those that broke up sets to put in albums could use these.

    But the price. Wow.

Anyone find it odd that ALL of the underbidders had only a few transactions to their name?

I didn't realize ½ the value of the Proof Sets was in the packaging. I thought most collectors threw them away after they took the coins out. (dazed & confused)
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
  • I know the price on these sets has risen dramatically, but don't follow them.

Is it possible one could purchase individual lower grade slabbed coins (PR67/68)
coins, bust them out of their holders, load them back into an empty proof set, and
make money selling it as original? Surely not!
  • Now you know where aboncom gets the coins for his SGS slabs.

  • I bought one item from them about a year and a half ago and it was not a good experience. In my opinion, though they show pictures of the holders empty, I think this leads to "no good" in our community. Allows for someone to put crappy coins in the case and then resell it as the original items.

    This flames me!

I sold 3 empty 1999 quarters only boxes/coa this week for around $20. I don't what the deal is, I've sold empty boxes before for normally a couple dollars. Now I'm just mad that I had thrown out some of my packages before I started saving them!

My empty boxes are in the attic, however I would be apprehensive about selling them on E-Bay as empty because I would think people would be bidding as if they were full-----no matter how clear I made itimage-------------------BigE

If it says in the title and description "no coins" and the picture is of no coins, then that should be pretty clear. However, I am nervous about when the customer recieves the ones that he bought for $20 this weekend. I would have rather sold them for two bucks then have to go through a big hastle.
  • Take a look at the winning bidder's closed auctions. Gee, go figure, they sell proof sets.

Note to self- Don't buy proof sets on e-bay anymore. How long do you think it will be before he sells them as an actual set?
