I've sold my set of Walkers

This is something I've been considering for about the last 6 months, and when a business opportunity arose where I needed more cash than I had readily available to take advantage of of this opportunity, I decided to go ahead and sell my set of Walkers.
Like I said above, this is something I was considering doing anyway, because I wanted to start collecting either a different series, or type set. I just haven't decided on what coin or series I'm going to start collecting since I like so many of the early type coins in gold, and silver, I might settle on type collecting...... But before I get started I'm going to take a short hiatus altogether from actually purchasing any coins until I have made my decision on what I will collect.
The reason I posted this here is so those of you that have an interest in any of my Walkers you can contact Pinnacle Rarities, since they are the dealer that bought my set outright, and they are also the dealer where I purchased the majority of my Walkers from. They have my entire set posted on their website now if anyone wants to view the coins, or enquire on purchasing something from the set..... If nothing else it is just worth looking at the collection because it is the first time the entire set has been photographed in its entirety..... You can also view the coins individually right here in the registry under The Wheat Collection late date #3 all time finest set, where each individual coin is pictured......
If you go to the Pinnacle website to view the set and click here then go to the bottom of the page and click on the "Browse Collection" you can see the entire set at one time....
I have no idea what the individual Walkers are priced at, so if you have an interest in any of the Walkers you will have to contact Pinnacle.
One other thing I would like to thank Scott Schechter, and Mark Feld (Coinguy1), for helping me with assembling some of the finest and most colorful originally toned Walkers that exist, and also Brandon Kelley (Poorboy) for his assistance in the book, and photography, that Pinnacle is having made up for me as a keepsake of my Walkers collection.

There is no way they could have paid enough for those coins!
Hell, I don't need to exercise.....I get enough just pushing my luck.
I suppose someday I'll probably sell off my XF/AU Indian cent set to fund other collecting interests -- but after all this time spent putting it together (started with a few of my dad's old G/VG Indians about 30 years ago) it'll be hard to let go, and I know I'm not ready yet. And that's not even a magnificent set of top-pops.
I learned only early this morning of your decision to part with your extraordinary and truly beautiful Walker set. Congratulations to you and Pinnacle.
When I heard the news, I was quite surprised, since you had only recently been looking to add coins to your set. But, I think I understand your reasons for deciding to part with it. I was also happy for other collectors, who will now have the opportunity to own some of those awesome coins you've been hogging to yourself.
I'd like to recognize Puff publicly for being a man of his word and for his loyalty to Pinnacle. I have seen many instances where collectors have worked primarily with one dealer for years in assembling their sets or collections. But, upon deciding to sell, those collectors sold or consigned their coins to other dealers or auction companies, without even giving their main dealer an opportunity to buy the collection they played such an integral role in forming. That is of course, the right of the owner, but something which I have never quite understood. Puff/Ed had said that when it came time to sell, he would give Pinnacle the first opportunity to handle his coins, and he was true to his word.
<< <i>But before I get started I'm going to take a short hiatus altogether from actually purchasing any coins until I have made my decision on what I will collect. >>
I think that is very wise.
Finally, Puff/Ed, I'd like to thank you for your kind words and am sincerely honored that you allowed me to play even a small part in the formation of such a set.
Best of luck and enjoyment in whatever you decide to do.
as some very old and dear friends left home.......
I was however thrilled to place them in several collectors homes whom would really appreciate them...
I see us a temporary stewards of the coins we posses, enjoying them for a given amount of time, then passing them along to future generations of collectors......
Let it be so......

Hey Mark -- So much for that "confidentiality clause" you had with Pinnacle!
Kidding aside, Mr. Wheat built one of those really fabulous collections where you can easily tell that the collector's heart (along with his cash) went into it. We're honored to have had the opportunity to acquire it. Thanks for the kind words.

Mark,
It's been my pleasure working with you over the years, and thank you for all the kind words here, you are truly a gentleman and a scholar......
Other collectors would be hard pressed to find a more honest dealer/numismatist, than you are Pinnacle Rarities to do business with, and I will definately be trying to work with the both of you in the not to distant future just as soon as I decide on which coin series or type(s) that I want to collect next.
Good luck in your enterprise what ever you are going to do. Maybe just maybe I will be able to finish my Walker set now
Scott, are you listening

About 3 or 4 years.
Sorry to hear you had to part with your set. It must be very difficult! Good luck with your new business opportunity.
I thought you might like to know your 34-s found a nice home today. The coin just arrived this morning....... I think it may be a keeper.
Thanks to Todd at Pinnacle for placing this terrific coin in my MS Half dollar type set.

Congratulations Bustman, that was one of my top 3 favorites, and I can assure you it is the prettier than "any" of the ms67's that exist! If you'll notice I still have it in my sig line.
Don't mind at all. Thanks for posting the pics.
Thanks. I liked the combination of eye appeal, quality, and it being a better date walker. The MS 68 coins in the set looked pretty darn nice as well.
Good luck to you.
