I do not collect these, but this looks better than many lousy proofs I've seen dated 36-42!

That coin is Mint State and not proof.

It's not a proof. It's a business strike with PL surfaces, which is likely why NGC gave it the star designation.

I got a friend who calls a lot of MS coins "Proof." Maybe I will give him a worn 1936 half and tell him it's a "Proof" and worth 6 thousand bucks!

The coin looks a bit washed out to me, either it's been dipped or Teletrade's photo isn't very good. Below are a couple images of 1942 proofs. You can notice differences between the rays above the sun, as they're much crisper on the proofs.
