Here a good place to learn, some of the most knowledgeable collectors around post here. It's also a good place to learn about human nature. I'm always amazed at the way some people, who are supposed to be grown up, can act.

I have some Morgans, Peace dollars. I also like to go to the bank for rolls to look through. I am thinking about starting on nickels.

Thats how many times you have responded to messages..or written something...normally the more you have..the longer you have been here..but some ppl cheat! 21 was a cool year...Dont ever get rid of em. My grandfather gave me some of his old coins too..thats what got me hooked!

Everytime you post, it increments by one. So when you see post: 9683 that means they post all the time and don't have a life

Two pieces of collecting advice -
1. Do not buy anything advertised on TV
2. Consider coins from outside the US as well, so called darkside (OK litesiders burn me)

Writting after the message...you mean a signiture line...you can have one too if you click on "profile" and go to the bottom...it just appears after every message! When you get really good..(took me months to figure out) you can add pictures too!

Welcome. I suggest you might start by buying some rolls at the bank and searching them. If you find a nice teller, they might order halves for you to search. You'll be surprised what you will find. Take $20 and get 10 rolls of nickels, then reroll and return what you don't keep and do it again.

Welcome! 3 cheers for new coin collectors, and 3 more for grandfathers who share old coins with grandkids (that's how it started for me -- my dad's grandfather giving him the tour of the collection, when he was still in single digit years).
