I know I am new to the boards, but this morning my mother lost a long battle to cancer, it is rough because you never expect this, even though you knew it would. She was a wonderful woman, a teacher and always encouraged me to pursue my coin hobby along with others. I will always remember here coming home with beat up morgan and a dirty horseblanket not which I will be putting to rest with here on Monday. I don't know if this belongs on the boards or not and I do not care, I do however ask for you prayers for her tonight no matter what you religion? I am glad there are so many good people on this board!
Best Regards
Jeff

My mother recovered from a stroke last year when we thought we had lost her. I treasure every moment more with her now. I can feel your loss.
Hang in there,
Dave

I lost my wife to Leukemia Dec 4th, 2002. It was a long illness for her, too. 12 years of fighting.
I know what you've been through and what you're going through.
Good luck and God Bless.

Memories, to last one, for a lifetime. My prayers shall go forth for your mother. The greatest tribute
to those who go to the beyond, is the loving memories of those who knew and loved them.
Camelot
Bear....touching words yours are...
Lathmach...whenever I saw your posts, I always thought "What a loving relationship he must have with his wife to put her pic on his sig line"...now I KNOW you HAVE (never HAD, always HAVE) a great love affair with that woman....
Badger...you are one of the lucky ones to know what you almost lost, yet by some divine intervention, your loved one was truly saved....
To all who have lost loved ones, this hobby and everything else in life is only secondary to what the greatest gift in life is.....FAMILY...I think we all need to learn how to cherish it a bit more before we realize what we no longer have, and by that time it could be too late to fully learn!!! Reminds me of that song by 'Mike and the Mechanics'.....about how he never told his dad what he felt, dad passed, and he never got the chance to tell him what he felt...all we need is that ONE chance to say it and we should jump at that chance...before there is no chance to jump at.
Mark
P.S......
My humorous anectodote would have been after FAMILY....though I will not sully the true meaning and heartfelt expressions to Jeff.....

Your life will be changed forever. You will remember her at all different times. A song, the way the sky looks on some days, rain, etc. Take care of yourself and your other family and freinds too.
God Bless.

It's fun memories like this that keep them alive in my heart.
Hang in there.
In our church, they have memorial services at certain intervals after ones' passing - e.g 40 days, 6 months, 1 yr, etc. At the end they chant a very beautiful hymn of which (for a woman) the main words are "may her memory be eternal".
I'm very sorry to hear about your mothers passing. Our prayers are with you and your family.
“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
