Your prayers tonight

I know I am new to the boards, but this morning my mother lost a long battle to cancer, it is rough because you never expect this, even though you knew it would. She was a wonderful woman, a teacher and always encouraged me to pursue my coin hobby along with others. I will always remember here coming home with beat up morgan and a dirty horseblanket not which I will be putting to rest with here on Monday. I don't know if this belongs on the boards or not and I do not care, I do however ask for you prayers for her tonight no matter what you religion? I am glad there are so many good people on this board!

Best Regards

Jeff

    Jeff,

My mother recovered from a stroke last year when we thought we had lost her. I treasure every moment more with her now. I can feel your loss.

    Hang in there,

Sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother.
I lost my wife to Leukemia Dec 4th, 2002. It was a long illness for her, too. 12 years of fighting.
I know what you've been through and what you're going through.
    Good luck and God Bless.

Moms are tough to lose. I lost my Dad 14 years ago to cancer -- he was 55. I was only 21. It was the hardest thing I ever went through at that point in my life. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Just know that with each day, it gets a little better.

  • Lathmatch, 12 years wow! You are stonger than I, after 2 years of suffering, Chemo, ghama knife and all kinds of experimental drugs I am so glad she isn't feeling pain anymore. My hats off to you, you are much stonger that I am, and thank you.

Jeff, the memories are what our loved ones leave behind. Each memory polished to a diamonds perfection.

Memories, to last one, for a lifetime. My prayers shall go forth for your mother. The greatest tribute

to those who go to the beyond, is the loving memories of those who knew and loved them.

  • Jeff...mere words are never enough to fully express the feelings felt by the loss of a loved one, nor are they ever fully enough to express the sympathies of those who are sympathetic to your situation....however, my prayers will include your mom tonite and I do express my greatest sympathy...

    Bear....touching words yours are...

Lathmach...whenever I saw your posts, I always thought "What a loving relationship he must have with his wife to put her pic on his sig line"...now I KNOW you HAVE (never HAD, always HAVE) a great love affair with that woman....

Badger...you are one of the lucky ones to know what you almost lost, yet by some divine intervention, your loved one was truly saved....

To all who have lost loved ones, this hobby and everything else in life is only secondary to what the greatest gift in life is.....FAMILY...I think we all need to learn how to cherish it a bit more before we realize what we no longer have, and by that time it could be too late to fully learn!!! Reminds me of that song by 'Mike and the Mechanics'.....about how he never told his dad what he felt, dad passed, and he never got the chance to tell him what he felt...all we need is that ONE chance to say it and we should jump at that chance...before there is no chance to jump at.

    Mark

    P.S......

My humorous anectodote would have been after FAMILY....though I will not sully the true meaning and heartfelt expressions to Jeff.....

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. My mother died 3 years ago this October of cancer. She fought for 9 months. My father followed just 4 months later. It was his coin collection that I inherited that has brought me here. (even though he polished every penny and mercury dime he had). but the bag full of bicentenial quarters sure was nice.

It's fun memories like this that keep them alive in my heart.

    Hang in there.

May the lord have mercy on her soul. My prayers are with you.

In our church, they have memorial services at certain intervals after ones' passing - e.g 40 days, 6 months, 1 yr, etc. At the end they chant a very beautiful hymn of which (for a woman) the main words are "may her memory be eternal".

May she rest in peace. Lost my Wife to colon Cancer 12 years ago. A disease that needs to be wiped off the face of this earth. Touchy subject for me I guess. What I have found is.... the pain never goes away, but becomes less sharp. Be well and take care. BTW, my wife and I collected coins together!!!!image

Prayed for your mother, ar18, and you have my sincere condolences. Remember that she has the victory now.

“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
