    I love that "VR" reverse design of the first florin.

    It's somewhat akin to the piece Fenton bought from the Terner sale. There were a group of 6-8 florin patterns (not Terner though) of which 2-3 were very pretty in both design and toning.

    Actually, he bought all the 1848 patterns (NGC slabs). These weren't Terner coins. He probably bought another couple dozen pieces, but I'm away from my cats. for now. Plus the Goldbergs currently have sale #25 offline. I'll try to check later this evening.

    Awesome pieces. I'm waiting for an 1848 Godless pattern to show up, the one that effectively became the design for the 1849 florin. The Centum is a real stunner.

    That's done it! You guys know i absolutely love these things. New one to add to my collecting aims in life...

    1) Get a Gothic Crown in AEF
    2) Get a Hammered Gold Sovereign
    3) AND THE NEW ENTRY... Get a proof shield reverse sovereign! (i'll happily settle for a common one though that's not a pattern!)

    Hot diggity dawg. All of those are awesome, but the cameo contrast and the quatrefoil "VR" design on the top one are totally stunning.
