Useful day

I went to my favourite coin dealer in town today. I had a bunch of duplicates to sell and my yearly Greek purchases to submit to NGC. As I was there, I came across three terrific colorfull Edward VII sixpences, years 1903, 1904 and 1909, so I bought them and submitted them on the spot. We'll see the results. I also got rid of that terrible stamp series that I talked about in one of Aethelred's thread. I promise I'll never touch these little papers again. The dealer who had sold it to me accepted to trade it with coins, and I chose a 1911 2 drs choice unc (!) -I have been looking for one for years- and another coin that I included in the lot I had for sale. Which is much better than I expected.

The sale included duplicates and coins that no longer suit my collecting interests. A dozen of them in total. I was given 95% of my asking price, while I was prepared to accept as low as 80%. New generation of honest dealers? Or is it knowledge that starts to pay off? Frankly, I don't know but I'm happy. It will fund the purchase of a new car, a Smart Brabus. image

Got to love that. Yes, a good day. Good luck with the new submissions, too.

1904 is the key date of the Edward VII sixpence series. Especially good luck on that submission.
