I am so sorry for not contacting anyone and staying away from the boards these past few months. Its been one of those snapshots in time in my life where everything pinches you from every direction and hobbies get placed on the back burner.
Life certainly pinched me and God has tested my strength., but I came out of it stronger , happier, and more solvent financially.
1. Mother suffers from diabetes and needed surgery. Came out of it fine, but needed my financial support and physical support.
2. Sister had ovarian cancer and had the tumor removed. Survived and is getting healthier.
3. $11,000 bill from the IRS on capital gains. Paid in full.
4. Friend crashed his motorcycle and almost died, again financial support and moral support.
That finally ended in March-May of this year.
Got promoted at work in early June.
Now making alot more money, can finally spend more on coins.
People who have borrowed from me are starting to pay back.
Everybody is healthier and happier.
God is great.
I am sorry about not responding to voicemails and emails. It was a real breach of etiquette and manners. It won't happen again, but I buried myself in work and helping folks out, but now its time to spend more time on hobbies and balance things out.
Its great to be back, I missed everyone. I kept up with the hobby by reading Coin World and the Numismatist periodically, but I have about 14 issues to catch up on , on Coin World, and 3 issues of the Numismatist to catch up on.

But my coin withdrawal is really, really, bad. I feel like a sailor on shoreleave coming back to shore.LOL
...you'd also like the raw one I just got that I have to photograph
Very nice, some of the withdrawal is being alleviated. I feel better already. LOL

You should scrape off that D!!
Good to see you are back. I thought you had changed interests and stopped collecting coins.

Thanks, glad to chat with you again.
and the only way I would stop collecting is if I am six feet under in a wooden box, and even then I'd think about getting a metal detector. LOL
Sometimes when you take a break from doing something, it just builds on itself, and starting up again becomes increasingly harder. Like being involved in the day to day flow of the forum.
Sorry, you went through those things, but very glad you seem to have returned with your spirit in tact.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
Welcome back
Seriously, welcome back. Good to hear from you.
What is going to be your first newp?

So what are you now? Do you finally have wings?
Glad you're back and everyone's OK!
I am gglad to see that you and your loved ones have endured them, and that you feel stronger having made it through them.
You own the distinction of having one of the few author icons which is larger than life size -- most of us have to scale ours down...
Welcome back buddy!!
