I don't know about this one. This is the look of a coin that has had darkener put on it. I could easily be wrong, but it looks funny to me. If original, I would go with MS-63 as I don't see even a trace of wear.

The pics were a bit darker than the coin. I fixed them up a bit where the color is a better approximation of the real coin.

I think the coin looks funny. Not passing judgement but the color looks mottled a bit and I do see some rubbing wear on the highest points. Overall a nice clean coin.

At worst, an AU retoned half cent.

At best, an AU-MS62 original half cent.

I wasn't satisfied with the previous pics. I rettok them and redid the white balance. This is the true color.

PCGS put it into a 55 slab. I was perosnally thinking a bit higher, but oh well, it's a very nice 55. maybe someday I'll crack and resubmit it and see what happens.

I see a tiny rub on the highest features of this coin, and I think that the mint luster is slightly impaired. Therefore the "real grade" is AU-58, brown.

Coins like this usually get into MS-63, brown holders these days, or if the grader was feeling conservative, MS-62, brown.

I think PCGS was close. I would have called it AU53, burnished.
